Default Mitsu Lancer Fastback

Opinions on the new Fastback?

I saw one the other day and though it looked pretty cool but the back has a bit too much of a slant to it, I would say I definitely prefer the Superpoo.

Like all Mitsubishis, it's better looking than the Subaru equivalent. This is good, as it'll spend a lot of time as roadside scenery.

ugh. horrible.
Why won't someone release a nice coupe? A 2 door hatchback, or even a 2 door wagon like the old school Nomad.

I'm tired of driving sedans, and cars that resemble minivans,

I don't see what's so special about it. I think the current Impreza 5 doors are cleaner...

And that's why I went outta my way to get an older coupe

No demand except for hicks from Langley that want the Nomad bag. I'm with you but why have two doors when you can have four for the same price and weight (would be the general answer you will get). I had my two door hatch Volvo but they didn't put AWD in it and the hatch was useless and it was a heavy car for the size.

How often does one need the extra doors though? I drive my car alone most of the time. Why pay the penalty for the extra weight of the doors, and the glass, and the length of the vehicle. Plus, you can't honestly tell me that a coupe and sedan would weight the same. Even taking 200lbs off this chassis would make for a much more fun car to drive. I'd take a 3000 lb coupe over a 3300lb hatch anyday.

Poo on you.
I love the idea of a 2 door wagon.

CLsmooth, indeed.
The 00' coupe is still one of the prettiest imprezas built. Like the eg civic, it has some timeless lines. I'd love to see Subaru pay homage to the original coupes in a new design, ala the new Challenger or Camaro. Something new, but with style that harkens to the old glory days of tuning.

Hypa, the classic impreza sedan weighs less than the coupe of the same trim level.

It's only 30lbs, but still less.

Vehicle length is rarely changed between coupe and sedan body styles.

I always assumed that the coupe would be lighter, like the sedan was lighter than the wagon.

wow!
It's not as bad as I thought.

new lancer sportback =

don't like it at all, styling in the back is all wrong compared to the front.

Front looks super mean and aggressive, back end looks euro blah.

Meh, I still like the 4 doors, makes it easier to throw junk (especially large items) in the backseats since you get better clearance... and I'm lazy, so I don't like having to move to let other passengers out.

meh.... 3dr hatch please, if I ever get tired of my 2dr cpe which is likely never. I thought the 00/01 sedan is 5lbs more than the cpe in 2.5RS trim?
