Ahem...
there's quite a few of here in Fresno:http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...central+valley People who have never been here or lived here long enough don't know the roads leading to the nearby foothills are among the best driving roads. And most of us Suby owners here in the valley are a close knit group. If you enjoy autocrossing, believe me, you would want to hang out with us. Our Atwater site is a blast to drive. Just introduce yourself in the thread above and I'm sure you'll get our response.BTW, Fresno has a population close to half a million. Not as small of a community as most people would think. |

great twisty mountainous roads are great, but what else do you do besides drive? i don't mean to cap on fremont...just that there's not much to do there by way of city life. ![]() db |

What exactly do people in "big cities" do anyway?
It all depends on what you like to do. Mountain biking? Hiking? Paint Ball? Or maybe you like the clubbing scene? How about white water rafting? Or maybe you like travelling: 3 hours to San Francisco, 4 hours to LA, 1.5 hours to Monterey, etc.... I've lived in the Bay Area for a year. I lived in Singapore for 15 years. In the end, they all feel the same, big cities and small cities. What's most important is you surround yourself with friends and loved ones. Then, no matter where you live, you will enjoy life. |

fair enough about the friends & family comment. you're also right about mtn biking, hiking, etc. however, all those things you mentioned are within range of SF: biking, hiking, snowboarding, rafting (sac), etc.
the nightlife here is decent -- not comparable to LA, but decent. live where you want to live. but relatively speaking, i feel central cali (and that includes bay area) has a good mix of everything. db |

I knew there was something to do here.
I was driving down blackstone and saw a 02 or 03 impreza outback with a wrx badge on teh trunk. i was confused, then I saw the hood was a wrx hood. anyone know who that is? Tell him not to pretend he has a wrx. I mean, you know. |

socal invasion....
And just how do you know he really didn't stuff a wrx under the hood? Chris. Aaron, if you get bored.. You can go for a scenic 'drive' along my favorite roads up there.... Hwy41 through Oakhurst, where you can be sure to give my ex's family a hallo. And Road 426, 223, 222, 432, 274 which wraps around the lake up there. |

I was wondering if he did, but why would anyone buy an 02 impreza outback for like 18k, and then put a wrx motor in, costing at least 5k, right? thats $24. He could have bought a real wrx. It's weird!!! Well he had a wrx hood at least. Probably bought it off a guy who got a cf hood.
I'm writing those roads down, thanks! |
