Default Is $99 a normal price for an oil change by Subaru dealership?

I need my oil changed but $99 seems a little high..! Is changing the oil on a turbocharged car the same as a N/A car? Can anybody recommend best oil for performance? i know people have their own opinions but i would like to know. *2003 WRX*

Rip off. It's the same process as any other car. I use German Castrol. It's the syntec 0w30 formula on the shelf.

Changing oil on a turbo car is no different than NA car. I would recomend a good synthetic oil i run 20w50 in my 04 sti. Save your money do it yourself should cost around 40.00

$99 is outrageous. I'd suggest doing it yourself. It's easy and you know that you're doing it right. I've been running synthetic since around 10k miles and my 2002 WRX doesn't burn any oil between oil changes. Oil brand is highly subjective and so are oil filters.

Search the maintenance forum for answers to all of your questions.

That price seems terribly high! I pay 29.99 at a local Subaru Shop(non-dealer). I used to get it done at the Dealer and it was around $40 and that included a free car wash(Patriot Subaru). Hope you find a better price or find out what they are doing for the additional charge!

We cannot quote dealer prices here.

Rotella 15w-40 (5qt) - $13
Oil filter - $10
DIY - $free.99
