Default WRX 440 Injectors in the 2000 RS

Is the air assist system needed when you replace the stock Injectors with the 440s. Can it be removed and capped? Will the ECU throw a code? The 440s do not have this feature and do not go down into the chamber past the air port. Also how have you guys been mounting the Injectors in the Intake manifold in regards to the "O" rings. I have the Railitech kit however I can not get them to work. I dont have there Instructions.

From the setups I've seen, you can remove and cap the AirAssist garbage.

WHat, exactly is the Air Assist system you are speaking of? I have a 2000 RS and I dont recall seeing this when I put in my RC 440s.

There are air lines on the front side of the Intake manifold that feed the Injectors. They are fed thru a solinoid that is mounted on the front passenger side of the Intake manifold.

yea helps (so they say) with better fuel mix/mileage. It isn't hooked directly to the injectors just to the fuel lines.

Fuel Lines? The air-assist garbage is actually not hooked to the fuel lines in anyway. The vacuum is connected to the manifold at the base of the injector boss. I can't say I 100% understand exactly how or what it's supposed to do though.
