Cool

joe z is da slidin' man! As joe said, the glare ice was a bit slick and the snow banks are an RS's worst nightmare, but the day was enjoyable if a bit short. Tomorrow ought to be interesting...

lift-turn-brake-countersteer-gas, did I miss anything?

L-T-B-RB-CS-A: much easier said than done!

You guys will have to be patient on the vids and pics...

I was too chicken to break push the OBS and risk breaking it before it has seen a track day. I came close many times, but bless those OBS steel wheels and wheel covers for taking the hits!

Here is a link to some videos I shot today:
(link removed due to suspended account at driveway.com)

joe_incar: In-car video of Joe driving ProRally-style on mixed ice and dirt on the "loop".
joe_tim: Joe keeping up with Tim slideways in the slalom and skidpad.
ryan_donuts: Ryan's RS-T doing a pirouette.
obscam_slalom: Video on the "loop", shot from the OBSCAM.

Thanks to Joe for the inspiration for the OBSCAM! (FYI, it's a tripod clamped in my ski rack.)

Hey.

I had a blast in the Legacy with all seasons too. The '95 was meant to understeer more - this was written in a Car and Drive article. The '93 was more fun, but I guess that comes with it being a 5spd...

I would have rather had the '93 on the 2nd day.

My oops is a cheap fix.

What were the tires on Ryan's car? I'm looking for the spelling...

Roger

Nokian Hakkepelita NRW. They weren't very good on the ice but in the slushy crap of the afternoon they were great. Excellent in regular snow as well.

BoomerRS, thanks for all of the organization. Having 5 students with 2 instructors was awesome, we got a lot of personal attention. Even with the discount I think the school is still a little pricey, but hey what the hell it was well worth it No dents here, just a broken front turn signal and loosened side skirts, an excuse for an upgrade!

I think my account at driveway.com was probably revoked due to too much traffic. Anyone else want to volunteer to host the videos? Just give me ftp access...

I've resampled some of the videos to make them smaller, and put them up on NBCi (formerly Xoom.com):

Hopefully, NBCi won't revoke this account as well...
