***Updated times in post 29***
Hey guys...not a record breaker, but I finally went into the 11s tonite! Took me a while, and cost me too much money, but its done. The car as it sits probably has a fair bit more to give, but untill I get the settings for the launch control dialed in, it does nothing but spin through first, and halfway into second. Maybe I'll get ancy, and pick up some drag radials, but I think not untill a few more trips to the track with street tires to keep to my "pump gas street tire" rule. Anyhow, some good stuff... Best ET 60'...1.908 (did I mention traction issues )330'...5.086 1/8...7.781 mph...92.39 1000'...10.036 1/4...11.975 mph...116.96 Best trap 60'...2.016 (traction impared!! )330'...5.203 1/8...7.859 mph...93.65 1000'...10.105 1/4...12.030 mph...117.24 Track... www.noproblemraceway.com Weather high 30s humidity 75% Car and parts... 05 WRX full weight minus my two girls car seats 1/2 tank of gas JDM ver 8 sti long block JDM ver 8 tgv-less intake JDM s203 ecu (if it matters) PPG Andrewtech helical 1-4 syncro box ACT 6 puck center sprung clutch and pressure plate with oe flywheel Carbonetic 1.5 way front diff Cusco 2 way in the r160 by me Perrin rotated 3076 .82 a/r kit with the newer 3" outlet Perrin downpipe hacked by me for atmospheric wastegate dump Perrin front mount Tial wastegate APS bov (my Tial Q showed up today!!) I wanna thank my wife and daughters for putting up with my arse spending way too much time in the garage, and give a big shout to Clark Turner for doing multiple tunes on my previous set up, with out his help then, I would not have given any thought to attempting a tune on my daily driver/race car with an even bigger turbo! Thanks for looking...I'll post up soon with some new results as soon as I hit the track again! Trey

Thanks guys! I really wish I'd have been at the track a bit earlier before the temps started really dropping, I bet the car would have gone deaper into the 11s then. After about 7:30 or so, we started seeing the trailer cars leaving...lol...track was going down hill from then on. Stinks, cause the track prep stops when the big tire cars go home...we all pay the same amount to run...I want my fair share of VHT...lol

Wow great times for such a crappy 60ft :P
Seriously though if you can get off the line a little better mid 11's are probably in your future, good job! |

I'm impressed. There is a world of difference with an 11.99" vs 12:01" It just is.

Nice work 3076 ftw. What would be an attainable et with drag radials on that setup do you think?

Well, I think its got an 11.6 or so in it with street tires, with some LC tweaking...on drag radials I'd be very on the verge of having to put a cage in the car

You would only need a rollbar if you were to pass 11.49, a rollcage is not needed until your under 10's I believe.
Great job though! Hopefully I'll be making my 11second stock turbo pass when my track opens back up. |

Paul, no dyno sheet, I tuned this myself on the street...I see full boost 23.5 psi at 42-4300rpm, and holds that till 8k I'm running right at 11:1afrs and a bit over 11* of timing in the higher rpm high load areas.
I'm not 100% sure of my tracks rules about the cages, but yes, 11.49 is the point where you need the extra safety equiptment. thanks for the complimentgs guys Trey |

Thats what I say too man...after spending a thousand or 2 on protunning at different shops on earlier set ups, I decided with my last turbo (blouch dom 2.5r) that I'd let Clark tune my car via e-mail. Best thing I could have ever done...$150 got me many revisions, all with me logging and having changes made for my home town driving conditions. After I watched and learned what Clark was doing, and seeing the reasons for the changes he made, I just went from there. You just can't beat having a tune that not only matches the mods, but the enviornment the car is in everyday!

Paul, I'm really not sure, I can tell you this much, I have the rev limit set to 8200, and it doesn't stop pulling till then. I may end up taking the car to be dynoed just for the heck of it. A shop an hour or so away just got a dynodynamics awd dyno. Like $80 for 3 pulls...I may do that.
Yeah, traction is not my friend right now for sure. I can roll onto it in 1st or 2nd, and get wheel spin. I may need to look into a center diff, I have a feeling the car is unloading the front wheels more than anything. Trey |

Good job man! Not to sound like a douche but I didn't think it would be difficult to get into the 11's with a rotated 30r and PPG's? What problems were you running into on the path to this goal?
