Default Squeaking sounds?

Hey! How is everyone?

I have a squeaking rattle that seems to be coming from the back of my 2000 Impreza RS 4-door whenver I am turning sharp left turns and when I hit big bumps. Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone experienced this before?
Thanks in advance?

Also my brakes seem to squeak but not the normal really high-pitched squeak, this is a lower grinding kindof squeak, but the pads are not low yet.

Peace
Jim

i can say taht you arent alone, my mechanic says nothing is wrong with the car but i sometimes hear it when im driving and my radio is off/really low. i also heard a high pitch noise when i shift from one lane to the other on a curve, i told him about it he heard it. looked all over my car and found nothing, he then cleaned my brakes and noise went away (but is back again). both him and me agree that its something with the stock brakes, i could be mistaken, but hes a certified subaru mechanic and has been working on subaru's since the 70's. he also did something else to my brakes but not sure i wasnt their teh entire time, i decided to go and test drive a h6 sedan for the 1millionth time (god i love that car).

hope this helps

peace

Well, I do know the stock pads tend to accumulate lots of brake dust which causes them to squeek. Also, since they are semi-metalic, they will also "grind" from time to time. All pretty normal.

As far as the sounds from the rear, could be your muffler hitting something, especially since you say you notice it when turning left. You can get under there and see if anything is moving around. The only things in the back are your sway bar (and links, etc) and your actual rear suspension.

Hope this helps!

i spoke with my mechanic about this today, he says it is break related. i agreed with him because i like to break hard sometimes and fly around corners. in the 2 1/2 years i have had my car i changed breaks 4 times already, maybe a bit more but tahts my rough count.
