I kinda like sunroofs but i know they are a PITA when they start to leak and whatnot.
I was thinking, would it be possible to take the roof assembly off a wrecked wrx with a sunroof and conver it? I figure it'd be nicer then one of those hack job ones you install that are aftermarket.

def possible. best way would be to weld in the WRX roof, ie drill out the spot welds for the roof, and re weld in teh wrx roof with the hole and bolt holes/brackets already in it

I have found a couple threads on the subject and those who have completed it seemed to regret it, some loved it. Some didn't like the body roll due to the loss of the support beams in the roof. Other's because of the wieght some just had problems with leaking, wistling, and poor fitment it is a pretty complicated little deal not just cutting a hole in the roof like my dumb a$$ thought. I personaly think it would be cool to have even though most people rarley use the damn things. And because i already know somebody is going to say buy a limited but they obviously didn't make a bug eye limited.. Some people say it is a safety hazzard. Just have to read for yourself and sorte the haters out.

I love having steel over my head. Maybe that comes from rolling a Miata....

It might be possible to find an aftermarket sunroof that will work with the Subaru roof without cutting into the roof supports.
