I read in Cobbs forum that there was a super charger in development, your thoughts

I grew up there.

Well, I grew up in Pelham actually... but my Dad moved to Salem in 1984, so I guess I pretty much grew up in both places. He was on Great Arlington Mill Reservoir (aka Arlington Pond

) on the north side.

I went to SHS ('1994), and still have some friends that live there.

I have dreams of a SC in the mid-future. I'm hoping to get one by some time early next year. I deff want it more than Turbo. Grap on your turbo. All your lag are belong to suck.

How many true race cars have turbos? - Alot

How many true race cars have superchargers? - Very few.

Unless of course you wanna talk about the very limited Integrale WRC car that Lancia built in the early 90's. That had both.

And boy was it fast.

Naah. I'm just making a lame attempt at humor

. Turbo's better for the top end, but scoobies are all about the twisties, and I won't be diving into them at 120 mph. I'd rather get a SC to make the low end real good. Igg likes torque. From what I gather its also less invasive. A stage 1 kit is basically just a bolt-on. Basically, I'm cheap and lazy, and the SC fits my style quite nicely

Well I cant argue about the ease of installation. The S/C is certainly easier. But you can definitely make torque with a turbo. WRC cars make about 330HP but over 500 lb-ft of torque.

Yeah, but it's a pain in the ass to do it right, and you have to worry about overboost and all that other crap. I'm with IggDawg on this one. I want to bolt it on and enjoy the torque. End of story. I don't want to worry about up pipes & down pipes and headers and low compression pistons and electronics. I just want it to be a little more powerful. I'm NOTgoing to be dragging or auto xing...

IF you do a little search under the sn Templar on this board you can find some supercharger stuff, it's a project him and another guy have been working on for a while. That might explain a few things better then I could.

There's also a few more threads on the rs board concerning the s/c that I was too lazy to link.

But there is no end of story. Either way you aren't just going to 'bolt-on' forced induction onto a car that came N/A from the factory and have everything work fine and dandy like it came that way. There's no such thing as adding a "street reliable 75-100 hp(on N/A cars)". That's just a pipe dream that vendors want you to believe. I would never add F/I to my car unless I had another reliable mode of transportation.

I'm not looking for 75 - 100hp. I'll be perfectly happy with an additional 40. When you start talking about 75 or 100HP you start talking about gears, tranny, clutch, flywheel etc. Not interested. I like my car, but I have other priorities, like my house...
