Default swapped fuel pumps

i swapped my 01 rs pump out for a wrx. when i installed it the lid on the sending unit didnt seem to sit flush anymore i figured it was from the pump. the filter on the end is twice as big as my RS. seems like the rear 3 bolts are being held up just a little.
i tightened it down anyway. my connections were made and i reattached the float.
just curious if anyone else ran into this? the lid not sitting flush when installing a wrx fuel pump?
