Default Another Junior Tune - My 06 STI - 444whp/380wtq on pump

Met Junior/Jimmy @ The Shop for the first time today after being recommended to me by my friend Jason (jays05 on NASIOC). I've been building cars and tinkering in the scene for about 10 years and only 2 people have tuned my cars previously, those being Franz Diebold and Seth Saint Denis. Needless to say I was a bit nervous. After talking to Jimmy and Junior I felt good leaving my car in their capable hands and headed to say hello to my friends @ EPL. After having a dance off with my motor (my motor is LOUD, lots of CP piston noise and noise from head) Junior managed to get the car dialed in on NY's awesome 93 octane (10% ethanol, yuck) and the results are as seen below. Afterwords on my way home I tuned my meth. injection system just to add some additional cooling/heat surpressent (bad expreiences w/ heat in Suby motors)...using my Labonte Motorsports setup I'm using a small nozzle and setup the progressive controller to spray from 15psi+. AFR's changed almost not at all since the M3 nozzle supplies but a mist to aid in cooling and perhaps lend a small hand if/when I get a bad tank of gas. Enough rambling...

Mods:
Blouch Turbo Dom 4.0R @ 22psi
CP Pistons
GSC S1 Cams
3" Maf
850cc injectors

I thought that was your car with the moon sticker on it. I data-logged your car on the test drive, its a very smooth ride!! Junior does amazing work.

Used to have Moon stickers on both doors but the car can't stop getting into accidents! I took it easy on the way home, only got on it a couple times once I dropped my passengers off who had to leave their car @ EPL. Felt pretty good, will know more when I get out of work tomorrow and put some real miles on it. Anything you see in the data logs I should watch for?

Subaru's are a crap shoot when talking about longevity. Many STi's are problem after problem, some are not.

Logs seemed fine. And with the added protection of meth on the same map, I wouldn't be surprised if that thing lasted for ever

if you only knew the half of it....
upstate ny where justin and i are from, the "car scene" has/had about 4-5 guys with sti's... all have required a built motor.. some requiring more than one. then between body damage from accidents, fires, etc theres EASILY been $150k spent on mods, repairs, salvage, etc for less than FIVE cars... its sad really.

I believe it was 1.2. To put it into perspective Ed this car has 120-122 traps in it on str8 93 gas. It would be a monster properly tuned on the meth.

Damn man, that is crazy. Im hoping my motor lasts, but I've put the car through so much abuse. It has an easy 5k miles on the aggressive map, 23-28psi w/ 35 degrees of timing up top. Even though its still on the stocker, thats alot of **** to throw at a motor that is notoriously known to blow up before it leaves the dealership floor.

EBC in this one btw

If it matters with 0 correction its like 360. 370 with 0 correction has trapped 123mph.

Justin it was nice to meet you and thanks for giving me the chance to tune the car for you. I know you have asked me a few times before, glad I could finally do it.
BTW that Rturbo was awesome. How did it do over at Tonys?

The non-corrected numbers sound to be dead on with my dyno software... why the hell do you guys use those corrections??

The R-Turbo ended up needing a new maf. Still at EPL, talked to Tony this morning and the car is up and running properly. Was scary w/ the bad maf (wild overboost condition...car was jumping up and down in 100whp intervals). I'll let you know the before/after results when all is said and done.

Nice numbers, but CRAZY curves! Is that the cams? That thing looks awesome all the way to 7,500, did you think about running it out even further?

No because the crank is only polished/balanced and NOT cross drilled. That is my greatest fear in spinning the motor further out. No need, 7500 is enough for now

Do you have any videos of the car? Curious to see what those GSC's sound like, and to see/hear the pull.
