Default wrx hybrid question

i just need some opinions. i just popped the motor in my 04 wrx. im planning on getting a 05 sti shortblock and swapping everything over. my question is, im going to be(for the time being) running the stock wrx ic and td04. its got catless up and 3" catless turbo back. im running a ap v1 stage 2 ots map. will i be ok with the extra displacement with the ots stage 2 map?. i barely have the cash to do the short block so a pro tune is out of the question. any info would be great. thanks!

Against my advice, a guy local to me here in Colorado did this last year on an engine I put together for him. He drove it for about 4 months with basically the exact same set up you are looking at doing. It survived until he was able to get a pro-tune.

That said, if my tone isn't obvious, I don't think it's a good idea. With how delicate the Ej257 pistons are when exposed to detonation or preignition it's really a crapshoot on whether or not it will hold together. A bad tank of gas or a malfunction with the BCS could crater a piston with no warning at all. You are taking your chances if you do this.
