Default 05 STi swap with blown trannie..got a question

there's a 01 impreza with an 05 sti motor for sale, but the trannie has blown 2nd. As stated by the owner its a 5speed, would a trannie off an EJ20 work? i'm n ot sure if the EJ257 block has the same mounting points as the trannie from an EJ20K that i have lying around.

anyone know if it will swap, and what may be needed? or is it a direct bolt on?

All EJ series tranys will bolt up to all EJ series engines, so yes it will bolt up but you may need a new flywheel/clutch kit and clutch fork and slave cylinder depending on what sort of trans is in there now.
