Default what to do about kartboy spacers?

-Info-
Speakers: Alpine SPX-17REFs
-cutout: 134mm
-depth: 2-17/32"

I have kartboy spacers, but my cutout diameter is a bit low I think as it would leave roughly 6mm on each side of the woofer exposed. (the screws fit just fine, it's the space that I'm worried about, the foam 'seal' on the speakers is nowhere near touching the spacer). Also, the depth is just a tad bit more than what the kartboy spacer can support.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to use the kartboy spacer (namely because I already have a set and I know the quality is A+).

1) Does anyone have one set of the original 5.5" kartboy spacers they'd be willing to trade for a 5.65" set?
2) are these any good? http://preview.tinyurl.com/d5tqf2 (store link: http://stores.ebay.com/Speaker-Adapters)
3) What material are the kartboys made of? Can I make my own easily enough (for cheap)?
4) Tom, do you have any spacers laying around with the old cutout size or with no cutout at all? (I emailed you, but it may have gotten lost somewhere, it happens)
5) I know the IAPerformance spacers exist, but I've seen the aftermath of some of them, and I'd rather go for a solid spacer.

Thanks. I'd like to eventually get these speakers installed

Best thing you can do, is use one as a template and moke your own out of cutting boards.. you have the mounting holes already there, with the cutting boards you can simply make the cutout any size you want...

I mentioned to Tom about possibly NOt making a cutout in the spacers, so the end user would have to cut them to fit, but nobody liked the idea, to many people out there that can't cut plastic??

yeah, I dunno I'd have bought a set or two without holes . Now, can I just use a handheld ummm... jigsaw (is that what they're called?) to cut it out?

Yep, Jigsaw is the tool of choice, unless you have a router table and all the fixens.

Might just be easier with the jigsaw, nobody will see it anyway (which sucks about the Kartboys, they look to nice to cover up..lol.)

So I talked with my dad.
He's worried the router will melt the plastic, we'll see.
he suggested I use a spacer adapter for the router bit so that I can use the existing kartboy spacers as a template and just cut around the outside like normal, use the spacer on the inside and I'll end up with a center diameter of (spacer x 2)mm smaller

Yay for the weekend (been writing proposals at work, it sucks and drains ALL of my energy)
