Default Misfired, CEL, fixed misfire, reset CEL, failed smog...

I failed the section where they check your MIL. The guy wouldn’t tell me what the issue was without paying 55 dollars, even though I told him I knew what the problem was… Basically it was 55 bucks or get out.

So I just bought a OBD II reader to pull the code myself for about 60 bucks. The car hasn’t had an opportunity to complete all of the OBD tests according to the reader, so I guess that was cause I had to pull the battery to reset the CEL from the misfiring. I’ve already been driving it for a few days now and it looks like there are a few test that are not completed yet.

Is there a procedure somewhere which tells you the conditions required for each test to be completed? I tried to look in the FSM but didn’t find anything…
