Default who's RS is the fastest?

I would be curious to know, what kind of 1/4 mile times, 0-60 times or dyno reports do you get typically with a turbocharged RS with 10:1 compresson, engine management, intercooling, and more fuel. I know Shiv claims to run 0-60 in 4.1 seconds in his RS with 10 psi? boost. Does anyone else have similar or better results? If so would you mind posting, or do you know where I can find the results tabled?

Thanks

I think I'd hold that question until the end of this summer. There are many more turbo'd RS's now than last year. Also, many that were around last summer have been undergoing upgrades or serious tuning. I think we're going to see a whole new set of standards for RS-T's.

I'm honestly not sure who's the fastest now. We don't hear much from Byron anymore, and he definitely claimed to be on of the fastest in the U.S.(with no proof on paper). The others have either disappeared, or been recouping from various issues suffered last year. Once the new guys get theirs all properly tuned, I'm sure we'll see more posts from them.

Most of the guys laying down the serious power aren't doing the track think. People who come to mind that have/had high power, high compression ratio RS's are MattC, RyanC, Shiv, Joe Hogan, efoo, and RS'ted. They are all running Tec-II's. Shiv with a dyno sheet of 300hp at the wheels. No numbers confirmed that I am aware of.

We have ShaneS with his mid-12 second MY98 who recently when Tec-II. There is the new owner of Adam Blooms STi v5 swap with a claimed mid-12 second quarter mile (and a proven 12.68 with his old EJ25 and piggy-backs). Byron is in there somewhere with nothing proven except a few claims of how fast the car felt. We have Danny@work with his monster EJ22-T. Zaidun and his monster Haltech'd ride. Finally, there are tons of 5-7psi RS's out there with various piggy-backs and many RS's at mid-point in their engine internal upgrade.

Oh, and then there is one honorable mention: Happy . If he hit the track, look out 9 second hondas . (if you didn't know, he has a dyno proven 500+hp at the engine dyno)

Oh yeah, and Kevin Thomas with his NOS breathing Outback Sport, lacking a manual tranny, lacking the extra .3L, but still cranking out a flat 13 second run

I recently ran 0-60 in 5.16 with all 4 snow tires spinning at 10 psi so it will be interesting to see what it does with 12 psi and sticky tires now that the high power gear set is going in...

Good point about reliability. There does not seem to be a lot of people running properly managed 10:1 compression with high boost (10+ psi). I would like to lower the compression eventually, unless I am happy with the reliability of the Tec II engine mangement. Having 10:1 compression has its advantages on the street, and for the track race fuel can be used. Someday I will probably do 8.5 or 9:1 compression.

Default times?

So Kastle, what are your times? Mainly I would like to know what is possible using 10:1 compression. I looked at the registry, and checked mods. Most do not list lowering the compression.

Default fast ay?

i say u can run 4.5 second 0-60 if u are willing to put out some cash and get the 17.5 psi boost EJ20 STi Turbocharged 276 HP engine. It will cost at least 10 grand i believe, maybe with the 6 speed transmission also. Im probably gonna do somethign like that and then sum, cuz im ready to smack the F*ck out of some integras and civics, and of course thoes domestic trash mustangs and vettes.

Mine is the fastest. I can go from 0-0 miles in under.000000001 seconds. Mine is dead, and I have to get it rebuilt.

A well built EJ25 with 10:1 (or 9.7:1) can easily destroy most of the WRX's on the road. There are a few exceptions, but if you manage the engine properly, there is tons of power available.

Most of the guys running ~5psi have cars in the low 14 second quarter mile.

well djimpreza looks like is going to have one hell of a ride.
As for my ride , the built engine looks real good , I havn't completely broke it in yet , now I'm fitting the HKS FMIC with custom piping and a new uppipe/DP exhaust , then the new intake manifold will be fitted with four injector bosses that will hold the 550's , so I'll be running staged fueling with the haltech. Also some more "top secret stuff" are going in , then we can retune the ecu for all the new goodies and THEN I'll go to the track , the last thing not purchased yet is the tranny pending all the new research and products out there.

Thanks for that ZAI, I would really like to see what all those toys could do, with the 750CC injector and the Cobb engine... I am expecting to have the engine in my hands in about 1 and half months, and expecting Shiv to come back and give me further info on my upgraded T3/t04 turbo...

Just two important parts to find and buy to complete project:

Clutch (I got an ACT, damn I can`t use those cusco twin plate with the rs clutch system)
Muffler (looking for a very nice 80mm tube cat back

I really like to see what a SOHC from Cobb could hit, Happy is getting 500+ with the DOHC in his GC8, the last time I talked to Joe Hogan, runing a cobb low comp engine, and at just 10 psi, without heads works, TB, Intake manifold, semiclose deck, and 550CC injectors, he was at 325HP (I guess at fywheel) with 80 to 85% IDC... Shiv got 290hp or so on RACE GAS AT 12 psi, fully stock motor, on 12 psi or so... and agian 550 CC injectors... and 2wd mod.

I know there are lots of more people with monsters engines and setups, please post them, give us your ideas, is to bad 5252 got troubles with his chalak gear dog gear set, just after showing us nice 1/4 miles times from his beatifull setup (the supercharged and intercooler, water injected, etc etc setup)...

Post 12's at bandimere colorado

I have a friend Sean Radke (Super Scooby) that put a JC Sports kit on his 98 with an air to water intercooler set up. Well he blew his engine running 8psi, so he got the turbo legacy block put on and had his pistons rebuilt and now he can run up to 30psi on his engine. To bad his turbo is a small ihi and can only handle just under 20 psi. With his small turbo and stock tranny he is running mid13's at bandamiere witch tends to be slower by more than a second. In the summer he plans to put in larger injectors, a larger turbo, a chalak gear set and he plans to run close to 30 psi on race fuel and touch 11's

DJ - We spoke in email about the exhaust - good news, the Brullen 3" does have a 3" flange, so it is 3" the whole length. Also, you wanted polished SS, and that is a $50 option for the muffler section (midpipe still black).

Good news indeed, since those were the two things you asked me to check on...

I have never heard anything good about JC.

Really I am interested in what people are doing with the 10:1 compression 2.5L engine. I have also heard different compression ratios thrown around. 9.5:1 9.7:1 and 10:1. Can anyone clarify this?

My '92 SVX LS-L runs 10.1:1. This will be difficult to mangage. I have plans to lower the compression in the future, but would like to do an interum tune with the stock engine to see how it does.

Right now I have problems holding back the boost on the T4/T3 hybrid turbo. I will be installing an external wastegate to assist. I also have fuel problems. 6 x 260 cc/min injectors (stock). I have in my possession 6 x 550 cc/min nismo fuel injectors. These coupled with the Tec II and A/W intercooler should do the job. I have also done a level 10 tranny upgrade, GC Koni, and full brake upgrade. I should be set up OK to tune soon. Also have boost and EGT gauge and a water injection system.

Other mods: removed the EGR and the purge control. I have a venting gas cap (modified by me).

Hopefully I won't destroy my car! Thats OK.....I still have the WRX.
