Exclamation Marley & Me - coming out on DVD. Watch out.

You've been warned.

Got it to watch as a fun little chick-flick. Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston, a dog... what could go wrong?

It's a little too real and a little too serious. Spoiler: they follow the timeline of the dog, from puppy to grave. At the end we were crying our eyes out.

It's a WELL done movie, I thought... but it was hard to finish. I haven't cried at a movie since... ever? Dog lovers, beware.

honestly, I'm kind of trying to avoid that movie. I don't think I can handle it. Issues with regard to pets are one of the few times I have emotions normally associated with humanity and I don't like it.

Trust me, I think you're happier I spoiled this. It was rough.

It went from ha-ha slapstick funny to just WAY more than we were ready to handle.

Edit: curse you, e3e3e3!

She's okay, but she's not a strong actress. Just kind of... there.

I'll pass. Crying at the end of Saving Private Ryan the first time I saw it was enough movie bawling for me for a while. Well, I really wasn't crying, but I had a good blubber lip going.

Tom Hanks died.

I don't know how close it follows the book, but good god the book was a drawn out tear jerk ending. Die...not die...die...not die...I actually think killing myself would be quicker and less painful. I had to make the call on a 14 yo sheepdog from a hotel room in New Mexico - this book took me right back there. :-(

I could not read Marley and Me once I heard what it was really about...reading Where the Red Fern Grows as a kid was traumatizing enough when it comes to sad doggy books...

I remember being in about 4th grade and crying like a baby during reading time because of that book.

Also, Woodsong by Gary Paulsen had me in tears. Cookie and his stick, still makes me tear up.

I have 2 dogs...

I cried...worse than my wife, honestly I was almost that guy crying really hard. There is nothing I love more in my life than my family, my dogs ARE my family. When I read the nasioc threads of those who have to put their dogs down (mine are just 1 and 1.5 yrs) I seriously come close to crying. I will have kids soon but right now my 2 puppies are the closest things I could have to kids and just the thought of having to make that decision would take me over the edge. Other than my wife, NOTHING makes me happier than my dogs.

Sorry for the short depressing moment, now back to your regular OT.
