Yo do they call you darkness? If it is i think ive driven by you a few times on elmendorf. I drive the bugeye with rex wing and black door. If your going to do that motor swap id like to help since that will be my next step to the 2.5L world.

Well, I've done it before and I'm about to do it again... If you have specific questions, I'll try to make helpful suggestions if I can. But be aware that I'm more of a computer jock than a mechanic.

Back in 2007 my son bought an '04 wrx with a blown engine(my idea...). We bought a brand new Subaru 2.5L shortblock from Conti and swapped it in, using the 2.0L heads, manifolds, etc. Everything went pretty well, it started right up and ran fine, but we soon found that the block was leaking oil at the top rear of the engine, in the area of the knock sensor. It seems to leak right through the casting. We found out later that this problem occurs sometimes. Conti offered to possibly warranty the block, if we remove it and bring it to them, but we've been a little slow on that, since my son needed wheels...

I recently picked up a totaled '02 wrx, so we have decided to swap that engine into my son's car while we decide what to do with the 2.5L engine.

I will say that the 2.5L makes a big difference in low end torque over the 2.0L. Good luck on your project.
