Default A thread about heads...

Just after confirmation on the difference between the heads on the EJ20G that was used in the B10 Legacy RS/GT from 1989-1992. I'm not including the RS-R or the RS-RA in this comparison at all too.

My understanding is that the heads for the RS are generally superior than the GT heads...can anyone shed some light on this?

I got the 89 Legacy heads but I've never seen the RS heads sorry. I do know however that the WRX EJ20G heads had a smaller combustion chamber which helps for compression purposes. On the outside they look almost identical though.

There's no difference between a wagon and a sedan head (RS vs GT).

Brilliant. You have saved me a trip down hell street doing my first head swap! It also means I can go full retard on everything. I was going hold off on a new turbo and boost control till I got the heads changed. Not anymore!
