its quite a bit taller, and it also sticks forward more
IMO, dont get the 04-05 sti scoop for a bugeye
it just doesnt flow well with the body
just get a JDM scoop

You really need the 04 wrx/sti scoop for that front end. The 02-03 is more downward facing which is why it can use a smaller wrx/sti scoop. The 04-05 front is more of like a bubble and when Subaru switched front ends, they had a hard time getting air into the hoodscoop. Which is why the 04-05 wrx and sti scoops have the lip on them, to help grab more air

They make ones that specifically retrofitted to change between different years. their are threads on it with a blob eye that fits a bug eye, vice versa, and hawk eye for blob eye and so forth. just search it. in all seriousness ive seen it a few times and a 04-05 scoop looks dumb as **** on a bug eye.

get a jdm 02-03 scoop, looks 1000000000000x better and its cheaper, its like an inch taller

I'm in the same boat, I've upgrade my engine to a JDM STI 2.0 and I now have a larger intercooler that needs a larger scoop. I have seen both the Bugeye and Blobeye scoops on an 02 WRX and it's a real toss up for looks vs performance.
I don't have any airflow measurements to show one way or the other but I've seen the both, granted not side by side and I was ok with the looks of both. It did look as the Blobeye would grab more air than the JDM Bugeye.
Anyone with a legit airflow comparo please chine in otherwise it'll come down to personal preferance.
