Post It finally happened....

No, I didn't crash my car.

They actually had an ice race today.

Unfortunately, I got my butt kicked. I found out the hard way that ice is a whole other animal.

My class was one of the bigger ones, 11 cars. There was even an S4 in my class, and I got to ride in it. It is such an amazing car, I can only wonder what the WRX is gonna be like.

There was a Legacy there and another RS there. The RS belonged to one of the Jackson brothers, pretty much the Jackson family run the event. I swear, each one in that family owns a different type of car (i.e. AWD, FF, FR, etc.) so that they can all run in almost all the classes.

The way they run it is pretty cool. No helmets needed. PLus, you can have passengers in your car. That was fun, we loaded up a VW Jetta with sutdded tires with four people in it. Then next, session, we loaded my car with four people. Of course, that ended up being my best run of the day.

I got some pics and some short movies. I'll try and get those up as soon as I can.

Pete,

Short of hosting stuff on your own machine like Kris (and others too) does, I've finally found NBCi (formerly xoom.com) to be a good compromise. They give you 500Mb free web page hosting, but files are limited to 11Mb each. The only catch is all videos must be linked from a web page that shows the NBCi banner - not a bad price to pay.

You can see my pictures and videos page there as an example. I now capture videos to MPEG1 format, and resample them in TMPGEnc to make them smaller, and use MGI VideoWave III to pull screen shots from the videos.

I used to use driveway.com, but they're apparently closing up shop.

Hope this helps,

-WaC
Wayne

Edit: URL fixes.
