^^U cant make me pay!!!...you should have taken the bet!!

You just need to ensure that it is the narrow fitment. The factory Subaru setup is
slightly different than the over the counter brands but the narrow refils will fit with
minor modification.

You can also just replace the whole wiper.

I bought the one for my '05 from a Subie dealer for about 12 bucks. I can't imagine the '09s would be much different in cost.

Not to mention that wiper blades are covered under the 3/36 warranty.

The little attachment clip can be popped off and put on the wiper you purchased.....problem solved.

Free at the dealer and they will even put it on for you!

Rear wipers for all Subarus are sometimes hard to find.

Why spend the money on the part when you can keep getting it replaced for free for the next 36k miles?

That's part of the problem....not using them will cause them to dry rot. Either that or your windshield is extremely dirty. Try cleaning the blades with some rubbing alcohol. You will be amazed at what will come off....that is, if you don't see noticable signs of cracking on the rubber.

I wish someone had helped you, because after much searching, I think this would/could have been the thread I was looking for., and yet, it's still not.

I have an '09 OBS, and I want to replace the ENTIRE REAR WIPER. I don't want a new blade. I don't want to go to the dealer. I don't want an OEM Subaru anything. I'll replace the arm if I have to. I want to remove what is there, and replace the stock wiper with a hinge-less Bosch, just like I did up front.

Sadly, however, this does not seem to be possible. What's back there now appears to be proprietary, or something, and that's unfortunate.

Oh, and I love the people who are like, just un-clip the wiper from the assembly and then any aftermarket blade will fit. Think. If it were that easy, we wouldn't be asking. Those of you saying that clearly have an older car (not that there's anything wrong with that) and yet talk to those of us who have newer models like we're morons. The back wiper on YOUR car (and I say this after reading several other threads) might swap out as easily as the front wipers do, and lucky you if that's true, but for some of us, it isn't so easy, and that's why we ask.

In short, the OP has a legitimate question, and if this isn't the website at which to find a legitimate answer, PLEASE, at the very least, just tell us where else to go.

I Managed an Advance Auto Parts store for the last 5 years. Just left them to go on to bigger better things. And when I left 6months ago we did not carry one for my 08 STi at all. Went through every blade the correct length in stock. Nothing clipped on the same.

In Canada, they might not be...but check your book.

Rear wipers are hard to come by in the aftermarket world. Not only for Subarus, but for other Makes as well. You can't find one for a Suzuki or Isuzu either.

Like I stated above, they are covered under warranty, at least in the US, for 3/36.

If you are trying to change the design of the wiper, you are going to have an even harder time and will probably be out of luck. Why not just take the free ones while you can and leave the design alone? (I don't understand why you would want to change it anyway...)

I've had the same wiper blades on my 08 OBS since 04/08. They all work great, no smearing, smudging or other annoyances.

Like everyone else said, just let the warranty cover it and then mod it when it runs out. Why spend the money on it now? I barely even use my rear wiper.
