2.5 litre on 2 litre heads
wiseco pistons
eagle rods
272 BC cams, springs n retainers, 1mm oversize valves

I had a friend with a similar issue and I believe it turned out to be a bad injector...

I think this is a common issue with hybrids...

Did you have your 2.0 combustion chambers bore matched for the bigger 2.5 bore??

Did you torque the knock sensor down to spec? Pretty common cause after a fresh rebuild...

Are you seeing actual FBKC? What values and where? WOT or just cruising? Any fine learning KC?

I assume you're logging a wideband, too?

yea afr's are right where they should be....fbkc is like -2.11 and -4.22....WOT....3064 and 3155 rpm then nothing before or after...then it goes back to zero....and IAM back up to 16 towards redline...a suby tech did the install...im sure he torqed it to spec....one tuner suggest i add timing and lean it out more?

sounds like either a bad injector or a rich misfire causing engine noise being picked up as knock. Is the engine running smooth when this happens? Are there black puffs of smoke from the tailpipe?

Oxygen sensors pick up oxygen in the exhaust. It isn't a fuel burn sensor. Extra overlap from larger cams puts more oxygen in the exhaust. Cams do affect your indicated afr a bit and it changes with boost levels. If one cylinder is lean and the other are rich, you can have burn post combustion and AFRs might indicate 10.9 but 3 cylinders might be 9.8 and the other is 12 or 13:1.

so wouldnt i have knock all the way thru the log or cruising if an injector was bad?

Considering these are the same injectors that his old setup was tuned on and the maf and injector scaling hasn't changed, I don't think it can be an injector.

great!

So we have another case where someone asks questions and seeks advice and argues with every answer. Instead of arguing, try proving that the items in question aren't the issue by testing.

Good luck!

Wow, I was just suggesting that the injectors aren't a likely problem. The thing that changed on his setup is his motor, not his fuel system. He didn't argue with you, and neither did I. Way to over react.

while you may think that nothing has changed, removing and reinstalling the entire fuel system opens a ton of variables for dirt to enter the system... Injectors go bad.... Ive personally experienced the same situation...

I would seriously recommend you sent the injectors in to be tested...

The IAM is staying at 16, but even at wastegagate pressure I am getting feedback and fine learning correction. I moved the afr to 11.3
