Default GTR runs 12.1 @ 119 at Bandimere (6000 ft asl)

Just wanted to share since I personally couldn't quite believe it myself. 3 seperate GTRs (all stock with LC reflash update) ran and all ran almost identically.

The spread between the 3 was 12.0 - 12.1 @ 119. All with 60' around 2.0-2.1. The craziest part was the weight of the cars! The weights ranged from 4040 - 4160lbs!!

So a stock GTR weighing on average of 4100lbs (with driver and fuel) ran a 12.1 @ 119 (95mph in the 1/8th mile)! Just crazy.

FWIW the temps were fairly ideal at 55-60F.

thats pretty quick for 6000 ft

i thought the 0-60 was like 3.2...why are they runing 2.0-2.1 60' (thats quite bad)
if the car is supposed to be 3.2 i would think the are pulling 1.4-1.5 60' area

edit* i saw the post below and can see why one would think i was confused

Impressive stuff! I wonder what they would trap with 1000lb's less weight to carry around...

^^ You wouldn't have a warranty coverage on anything relating to the drivetrain on any car you did this to anyhow...

Sweet - I can hang with a GTR to the 60' mark - hahaha

<---- runs consistent 1.99 60's at Bandimere (I know not that impressive, but it's a 16yr old car...)

Wish I could have come by to see the track day

This is LC 2.0 which only revs up to 3000rpm versus 4500rpm (tranny breaking rpm). I think the power loss at 3000rpm at 6000ft asl is just enough to account for the crappy 60'. Sea level people are getting 1.7-1.8 60' with the new LC [shrug].

Just so some of you know im not trying to be a dick or anything but most of you dont realize that the GTR was not made to be a Drag King ok its designed for the track so with that said the axles and trany and everything else is exactly how its supposed to be and works exactly how its supposed to work. Now if your unsatisfied with it not being able to withstand those launches then build your self a purposefully designed drag trany and axle. SO DONT GO AROUND BASHING ON NISSAN WHEN YOU OBVIOUSLY KNOW NOTHING OF THE GTR.

I think a lot of people feel that when you purchase such a super car like the GTR, especially at its price range you expect to get what you pay for. These owners are breaking transmissions completely stock, which is unacceptable for a car being promoted and advertised with the features it has and not being backed by the manufacturer. They basically hype you up and sell you a car with potential to be one of the best performing vehicles out there and then void your warranty if you use the features they promote and allow it to be the performer advertised to be. Plus they record your activity, sounds like they didn't put enough into it and tried covering themselves for the known events.

Our STi's are not meant for drag strips either, but the 6-speed has proven to withstand 600+whp, consistent 9,10, and 11 second 1/4 mile passes. Not to mention a whole lot of other features that make my STi a keeper. This is all in vehicle that is anywhere from $40k less..if not more.

^The 6mt in the STi is going to be a slight bit different in design then the GTR dual clutch, comparing the two is the whole apples to oranges debate. My best guess to the GTR gear failures probably comes down to the weight (~700lbs > STi), packaging requirements of the gearbox (GTR box is basically a trans axle like many mid engine cars or something closer to home the corvette). And.... The dual clutch design which calls for two main shafts 1-3-5 and 2-4-6 which is double a regular manual tranny which I should guess need to be made smaller to fit in the same package. All of this is just my thoughts and may be completely wrong so don't start flaming too quickly.

Also, you think Subaru would warranty your transmission if they knew you were abusing it. I think not. How many people destroyed a Subaru 5mt and received zero warranty, and that is a car with only 227hp not 500+ or whatever the GTR is actually putting out.

You're right about comparing the 2 different types of transmissions. I still feel that Nissan knew the potential failures so they covered their investment. I heard some were having the same issues in the evo MR dual clutch trans.
