Default Fuel Problems (Fuel Pump Controller?)

Hey there,

I have a bit of an issue on my hands... I have an engine code P1230 which I've found means the "fuel pump controller". I have a high flow fuel pump that has always worked great but has recently been making a lot of noise (maybe its going out) and is now getting quiet again.

I have a basic scanner that gave me the P1230 code after my engine just died out under normal driving conditions... I turned the key off and then back on and the car started and ran fine. About ten minutes later that same problem happened... the car died, but restarted and ran just fine until it happened again, and again, until I finally made it home to park it and fix it.

Where/What is the "Fuel Pump Controller"? Could this problem be connected to a faulty fuel pump or is this an entirely different issue?

Thank you so much for your help!

-Cameron

The fuel pump controller is located in your trunk on the passenger side near the gas door behind the carpet. Its held on to a bracket with two 10mm nuts.
