building a proper race/track car is so much work - oh i know!

nicely done - you have to have a passion for it, or you will just burn up/burn out...

good job!!

Jeff,
Not quite. The car is still awaiting the motor and then its back up to Redmond, WA to have some last few things done to the cage, (window net, repair some crappy welds, and do a dashbar.) The interior should be coming together in the next few weeks. My buddy is working on getting a carbon piece made up for the dash so that i can mount the fire system pull as well as ignition switch. Should have more pics up in the next few weeks.

You car is badass. I look forward to swapping paint with you, just kidding!

Did you get your dash bar taken care of? Turns out Speedware spaced out on mine, but they are taken care of it. +1 Speedware.

Actually, I was. Did you spot me? Speedware does most of the cage/safety/ race prep stuff for me.

Saw your car being worked on, asked Kelly if the owner was around to say hi, he had to answer the phone before I got an answer.

Real beefy cage you got in there, I'm impressed.

From the SCCA Regional opener at PIR a few weeks ago. I believe I saw your car there doing the school for the weekend.

Oh yes sir. I saw you out there that weekend. In fact, I saw you run; I was posted in the tower. I Didn't make it to the regional, my motor called it quits early

Congrats on the win! That's really impressive knowing how popular/big the SM class is!

Very clean car too, looks good.

Haha, absolutely!

I'm leaving the dash bar out. By my interpretation (and concurred with several local cage fabricators) it is not required.

Bummer, if you are going to be racing that car, expect some issue's. Every racecar has it's issue's, it's just a matter of how quickly you can find them and then resolve them. Just some advice, get rid of those Work's you are racing on and swap over to some Enkei RPF1 or some Rota's. The Works are EXTREMELY heavy, you will drop time immediately with a lighter set of wheels, just think rotational mass

Thanks! It's the first time that Ken Sutherland hasn't won the season opener in the last 7 years!!! It's always nicer to work on a clean car, especially when you are making changes every session, it's nice not to be covered in crap by the end of the day. If you are running ITE, I might see you out there this year, I'm still working on it but might be running a C6 ITE prepared Corvette for someone....it's fast

Here is a video you guys might enjoy, it's from the National races down at Thunderhill 2 weeks ago. We were running in 3rd till this happened.

Yes the same guy hit me twice, but it's a lot more complicated than that. 2 cars at one of their home tracks, Matt Cross and Ara Malkhassian (both Pro MX-5 Cup racers) caught our lead group of 4 because the front 2 were battling it out. I was sitting in 3rd saving my tires for the last 1/4 of the race to make my move. Matt Cross (5th place) tried to make a move to the inside of T14 on the 4th place car when he drove in WAY to deep, locked up and hit me the first time. This puts myself and Matt side-by-side between T14 and T15, while the car he initially tried to pass does an over-under move and tries to go 3-wide through T15. Those 2 cars make contact and then send myself as well as Ara flying off T15. Be patient out there, you don't need to try to win the race every opportunity you get, you will KNOW when it's going to be a clean and legit pass, then make your move.

Did a little E85 tuning today on my track only car. Here is a video of the car on the dyno, it's not the final run but it shows me very close to the final 450/450.

http://www.mickandsarah.com/Movies/e85-450-450.mp4

I did turn up the boost a little, I am now running 21-22 psi. Gas equiv AFR was 11.5, I think I may add some more fuel to reduce the EGT's for the track. They are lower than what I was running on normal gas. Injectors are at 75% so I have loads of room left.

Oh believe me i've got a taste of what some of the issues are going to be. Thanks for the advice about the wheels, i'm pretty low on funds considering the repair/replacement costs of my new engine, but new wheels will be my next purchase.

Thanks
