Default Blew a rod and I need a new Engine, 2.5?

OKay I found out today from my mechanic that I blew a rod in my 2003 WRX Impreza Sedan. I want to put an 06 WRX engine in it. How hard is it? Are people having alot of problems once there tuned? What am I looking and spending wise? Please all the help would be much appreciated. Pro's and Con's of the swap. Everything I need to know about doing the swap would be much appreciated. Thanks.

hey man, it would be a lot easy/cheaper just to get a 2.5L block new from subaru 1700-2000 if you can find a cool parts guy.

then STi headgaskets, and 2.0 rebuild kit for the top end (please dont try to use the 2.0 headgaskets that come with the kit, just sell them)

then get retuned and enjoy... I did.

some say there are, but as long as the motor is put together properly, no there won't be any flaws. Just need a good tuner too. Luckily you live in Cali, you have a wide selection of tuners im sure.
