here's the other finished head. yes I'm a little biased.. but I'm all performance so that's why. I'd say I'd only port them for people who are really going to make the most out of them. If not...then maybe a valve to port blending and touch up the 90* bend on the exhaust of the 04-06 STi heads. Takes a lot of time.

you HAVE to take come pics of your head work!! Good reference to look back at it later when you do more porting work. ... you know.

The owner can and picked up his heads. I showed him what stock looked like with a WRX head. He got to see the difference. Here are the last pictures of the heads before they went off to go onto the engine. We'll see how she runs! I'll get to drive it when it's all put together with a GT3076R. Lets see how much power it holds up top. Sorry I only show intake ports..... The exhuast are in the few posts above

You got any of these heads out making power? I'd love to see a before and after plot of these things in action. They look nice but there is more to good porting than just making the ports as big as possible.

The pics of the head in the beginning of the thread is on an '04 STi with a Perring 3076R .83a/r, FMIC, Crower 264* cams, Wiseco pistons, 1000cc injectors. We're still in the tuning process and figuring out the bugs. It'll be running on E85 soon.

I am excited to see the results as well.

The heads got cleaned and hot tanked. They where put back in with their valves in their same place, new valve springs, retainers, and some reshimmed with new buckets.

I have NOT done valve jobs yet. A shop can do that if you want. I will eventually get into that later. I just don't have the machine for that so for the time being, I will have shops do that for me.

I just finally started porting my heads.

Double-D series head ports on USDM EJ255 '06 WRX head. Comparison via 13/16" socket and 3/4" socket. Trying something different this time making the roof a little bit taller to gain some volume and make the air a straighter shot into the cylinder instead of flowing straight then turn. Mimicking the JDM port runners.

The first set of heads yes. Not for the Baby-D's as they where just valve seat blending and splitter work and valve guide shrouding.

I do want to get some flow numbers for my heads after I'm done with them.

This port is ALMOST done. I just need to blend the valve seat with the port runner...that's it. But this is the TRUE Double-D!!!!

Those are ported JDM heads. They are very big to begin with. I've seen a set of Ver6 STi and also the Spec C heads. I need to get better pics when I'm done with mine. theses are cell phone pics.. lolz

Your heads are much easier to clean up since the runners themselves are shaped a certain way. Porting these small ports to shape like the JDM big ports are a little tough and takes some time.

What are the flow rates at .400"???? Most cams don't lift to .500"... that all average around that .400" to as much as .450"
