Post a log in here as per the instructions and I will create the plot and update the list results

EDIT: As for using street tuner to perform logs, I am not sure if the logged "time" data is compatible with Airboy's spreadsheet - I will check this with Airboy.

The time seems to be the same as when I use to log with ECUexplorer and that works with airboys so I don't know. If you can do it great if not I understand. Remember this is a 4EAT thanks

wrxsti.l - why does your sheet go to 7000rpm but sponaugle goes to 6000rpm even when his log clearly shows 7000rpm?

How are you normalizing numbers for IAT? That can make a massive difference in total numbers. Also, I'd move tire size up into the vehicle info field. This should be required as it is needed for correct numbers.

Anyway:

Just tried then. Unfortunately the time data is not compatible and as a result the plot is incorrect.

Can you change the time data and how it is represented/presented in the log to match that of RomRaider's Logger?

I'm just selecting the lowest value recorded. Most logs I have seen only vary a couple degrees throughout a single log and those couple of degrees do not make much difference in the dyno plot (only 1whp when I checked before).

It is listed in the requirements info, I just forgot to add it the vehicle details format - all fixed now, cheers for spotting that.

Guessing that is to 02WRX's post. He needs to change his time into a straight number to represent milleseconds.

Yeah, I guess what I am saying is that I could pull a log from when it was zero degrees here in MN, and that could shoot out numbers that would be higher then someone with a much larger turbo and IAT's in the 80's, even though they would have a much faster car, comparatively.

Maybe it's best to have everyone attempt to get logs that have IAT's around 60-70 and post those?

Also, you may want to clarify which "smoothing" factor you used for everyone's logs. The smoothing factor will have an effect on how the graph "looks," and the final numbers (higher smoothing will generally net lower total numbers).

Anyway, I like the idea, regardless .

lol. See my post above about smoothing factor. Try that log on "3." Will probably be more torque and less HP .

Yeah just checked that now. So should I use smoothing factor of "3" for all 3rd gear logs? I'm not exactly sure, I use smoothing factor of 6 as the result was almost exactly the same as my dyno dynamics results.

Whatever I use, I will use for all dyno plots, so it is best to agree on a smoothing factor now

Well, I'm not sure there really is a "one size fits all" answer to that. Smoothing factor needed is very dependent on how many data points the log has. If you use a high smoothing on a log with less data points, it'll come out like mine did...quite flat .

ah ok, I just checked over a few different logs and from now on I'll use the following rule for calculating smoothing:

3 = 0-30 data points
4 = 31-40 data points
5 = 41-50 data points
6 = 51-60 data points
7 = 61-70 data points
8 = 80+ data points

thats cool. so is this working? i have been using dynologlab, and when i did my friends with an auto it came up with the same map that you had, where one goes negative one goes positive, have you decided what all you want logged, or is it still what you said to start with

The time units is in your log is in "absolute time" in 24 hour day (0.0 being 0:00, 1.0 being 24:00). To convert to milliseconds you need to (in excel) multiply the values by 86400000, and change the number format to "General".

Your other "problem" is the auto tranny. RPM will not be a good representation of vehicle speed.

If they can log the requested parameters (and I'd be shocked if they couldn't) then it seems to me that it doesn't matter how you collect the data. Might need to tweak the CSV header by hand to get the same parameter names that the spreadsheet is looking for, but that doesn't sound too hard.
