Default new & catching up w/ AK i-club

Hey, new to this board, (obviously), and not a subaru driver, (also obviously), but gotta utilize the resources available-- I feel like I should upgrade my ride, so I'm gonna be here watching and commenting on the STi and the EVO VII, thanks for any help in advance, anyone know if the Mitsu dealer knows anything about the Evo...? (don't want to jump in here though and support the Evo 100%... :-)) oh btw was reading in the S4 thread; someone in an S4 who was trying to show off to his girl ended up getting beat by me--- I know I had no chance after 45 but I stayed ahead of him till then... It was a new car and I'm 90% sure he didn't know how to drive it yet, but still was pretty fun to see the look on his face... ;-) later....

Welcome to the forum. Your opinions on any vehicle are welcome. We have a diverse group of drivers that browse this forum. So, don't think you are going to offend anyone if you think the Evo is the better than the WRX. I'm sure there are people here that will agree with you.

What have you done to your S10?

Winslow, what's up, how's ERAU going?? Yeah you've seen my truck, I finally got around to showing up here... here's the list though, of what I've done-- sounds of it are on the webpage, along with the current 'she's broke' update... just cutting and pasting from the homepage, it's saturday i'm cutting some corners.. :-)
Later
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
K&N filtercharger, Poweraid spacer, Bosch 4+ spark plugs, Ac Delco high performance wires, 14" eFan by thinline, Stage2 JetChip, 180 degree thermostat, high performance water pump...
Edelbrock shorty headers, into high flow cat, through to kc performance muffler, then to y-pipe and to dual exhaust with expensive oval tips!
Hurst shifter, Kenwood Excelon deck, Orion 500 watt amp pushing a single 12" Rockford Fosgate Hx2 gen 2 sub.. Pioneer 4x10's in the back, 4x6's in the dash, dynomat along extended cab portion of the cab, more to come...
Xenon H4 diamond conversion headlights, clear lenses in the front, stock black rims on 235's, carbon fiber altezzas, cool looking 'S-10' stickers in the back window good for an additional 20hp...
Not yet but soon :
Cowl hood, Edelbrock IAS shocks, valve covers, oil cap and manifold, MSD ignition, Holley TB, Pistons, Heads, porting, all emissions legal.. Then we'll see about my TT conversion..
Sorry, I'm not placing your name with a face. Did we or do we have class together?
$5000 installed and tuned! I'd do it myself for that much.
They've got someone working there who is the 4.3l wizard, I need to go talk with him about mine... They said it probably wouldn't be that much, mostly labor-- parts for about 2 grand..
Yeah uhm last semester, Human Factors... I told you I was getting a Evo VII, you said to keep the S-10...
Dump a Lt1/LS1 V8 into your S10. Or you can do a BBC aswell. There's a guy who run's a built Stroker SBC w/ N2O at the track, he was running 10.40's out there on the bottle.
I wish I could go to the track for the first month it will be open.
Actually, if you put an LT1 or LS1 V8 and keep the cat's in the stock location, your vehicle would remain emissions legal. Vehicle Engine Swaps require to ahve the motor newer then the vehicle it was put in. So, you could get away with it...
Default shouldn't have told me that....
I think I might have to look into swapping out the engines..... I'm sick of this 4.3, it's going to take some $$$ to get it to where I want it.... it sounds good now and only I know what's lacking..
Yeah... So Jan '03 is that still pretty much accurate..?? I went down to the mitsu dealer about a month ago, they were pretty much ignorant about it-- I should talk to someone who actually cares about the cars next time... I'd like to get my name on the list as soon as I can though, to make sure they've got one for me to test and take home.........
If you want to mod your truck just get seasonal tags for it. If you have a really nice truck you probably would not want to be driving it in the winter anywho. Do you have a 2wd or 4wd S10? I know that my fiances bone stock S10 with a 4.3L does pretty damn good!
Power Source is a new car mod shop over by Perfectionist. They have a pretty nice shop, and should have some good parts. But I can tell you that they will charge a hell of a lot more than Winslow does for installation.
Yeah--- I would love to get seasonal tags... at this point though the truck isn't worth getting the exemption, someday it will, but for now I still like playing in the snow...
Mine is 4wd, which is the only way i can get a good enough launch sometimes to keep up with some cars... going to invest in posi-traction too, soon.
I've got updates, sounds, etc, on the webpage i threw together for this truck i've got... get the latest news on my '91... haha
Yeah 4.3's are sweet ;-) Good for torque but bad for high end.. need something that is good for both, the bro wants the 4.3 :-)
I'm going to have to talk with Winslow about putting the turbos in, you're right power source is good but expensive... But, right now school is expensive and work doesn't pay enough.. just concerned about getting it ready to run on the 12th for now..
Actually, just get a newer set of Aluminum Vortec heads (94+ Blazer and S10's) and get a good set of Rods and Pistons, a forged crank, and turn that truck into a syclone. You might have to go to a stand alone mangement system like F.A.S.T. or a Motec.
