Default NA EJ252 rebuild..

Hi,

I have the EJ25 Phase II SOHC (EJ252 on VIN) in my 2000 NA Legacy GT and I am getting the engine rebuilt soon, and want it to be strong enough for future boosting.
It's currently at 60k miles and has some piston slap and higher than normal oil consumption...

I was considering:

- Wiseco Piston Set 9:1 or 9.5:1
- K1 H-Beam rods
- 08 STi head gasket...
- ARP head studs
- All new seals, gaskets, pullies, belts
- Water pump

Is there anything I am missing that should be done?
Any of this not need to be done, to save costs?
Anyone have part numbers if possible?

Application: This will be a daily driven street car.
Expectations: ~250awhp
Long term possibilities: ~300awhp
I only have access to 91 octane fuel.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

Get used STI rods and save money.

Go lower than higher compression if you are going to piggyback the stock ECU.

98 EJ25D headgasket is awesome, although itlowers compression due to the thickness.

You aren't going to do the bearings? Are you going to refresh the head at all, at least valve stem guides and seals and maybe at least check the valve seats for tolerances? I would put a new oil pump on too while you're at it. They're pretty cheap.
What kind of fuel injectors are you going to use? How are you going to tune it? You have to replace your exhaust manifolds of course, what are you going to do to them? I would at least port match the manifolds and get an up-pipe (pretty cheap for a good gain).
