Unhappy

my car got tuned on friday for e85, tune was good, lunch was good, test drive...fml

http://img268.imageshack.us/i/dsc00122ye.jpg/

not so good. Yea the tuner wrecked the car and I get to drive a econo rental while it gets fixed(everyone involved is ok medically speaking)

on a good note made 335hp on a dynapack vf30 only 19psi though.

What I'm wondering is.........how the hell did he pull that off?? With a tune he shouldn't be doing more than straight pulls, horsing around in corners with someone else's car is just asking for a lawsuit.

I goof off with the customer in the car after we finished the tune.... We have more open areas though and I don't do it in areas with other cars or obstacles. Also, I've been racing/drifting/performance driving for almost 20 years.

in his defense he wasnt really goofing off, I was with him and it was a simple u turn (a break in the yellow line not a redlight).

a car was in front of us and created a blind spot to our front left. He did the u turn not seeing the oncoming vehicle

As long as my car gets fixed at their expense i'll be ok. I'm just upset that i didnt get to drive it, accidents happen though.

well that is understandable. People make mistakes and mistakes while goofing off are harder to accept.

Since that wasn't the case, I don't see any need for people to bash the driver.

17.5 psi? On the stock turbo? OK that doesn't make ANY sense, since you will only make slighly more HP at the same boost levels on E85 that you would on pump gas, and you're not even at the same boost levels as stage II. Something doesn't seem right here. What kinda dyno was this on? I could accept your power numbers if you were running like 23psi or something like that, but not 17.5

^^. U don't know what you're talking about.

Peak boost does not come at the same rpm as peak hp so making that reference doesn't work.

Almost all the power on e85 on smaller turbos comes from adding 6-8* of timing, leaning out the afr and the cooling effects of e85.

Increasing the boost past 16-18 psi on a vf turbo only gains u low end torque, not peak hp.

That's why you can make 100+ wtq more than whp on a VF turbo and a 2.5.....

Ron speaks the truth.
