I was wondering if you guys can suggest me if things i should add or change on my set up

and if someone could summerize what new findings people find with use of e85 for power or reliability

thanks guys
I am very glad that you will try to rebreak the record, you have way more competition now .

All you need is 850cc injectors, Walbro fuelpump and get tuned by Ed. I think your setup is good as it is.

The answer to your question though, is that they are giving those warranties on vehicles designed to run on it.

I run E-85 Daily so don't take this as anti-E85 speak.

I also realize that the filter cut open a few pages back, that is disintegrated, is from an '02. However I will be changing out to a racing filter anyhow. I will be pulling apart my fuel system in 5,000 miles and testing the rubber. You may continue doing what you were doing before I derailed the whole deal with questions.
Old school guys are smart and very dumb to say the least...

They are used to 100% meth or 100% alcohol. Ethanol is not straight alcohol so there are things that come into account that they do not realize.

As well as running a proper oil designed for alcohol based fuels makes a HUGE different in engine reliability.

I wasn't saying I know the most people running E if I did you would still be reading my list..., I am saying they run a High Performance shop, don't you think if there were oiling problems at the piston ring to cylinder, and in the valve train one of them wouldn't have noticed on a rebuild? It is E85-15% gasoline minimum remember, I do not beleive in the decreased lubrication thing... What you will have is increased cylinder pressures... from being able to run more timing and/or boost...Have you read the E85 fuel faq-http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=803341... tons of info here... My dad is an old school racer and has 30k engine we pull regularly, thats the norm guy...I don't take his advice on my MODERN vehicle sometimes because its 2 totally different aspects... Its Opinion they were giving you remember... Btw I have already tested my rubber line after 10,000 E85 miles, want any pictures ect I still have some of the line sitting in my toolbox...
I get what you are saying. My biggest concern is going from 90% petroleum to 15% petroleum and the effects on any rubber seals within the system. I don't need any pictures, I am just one who covers all of the bases on any project. Tim Bailey (my tuner) and all the guys at Surgeline have told me they have not yet seen any long-term problems with E-85 use. I do know that if you run a fuel cell, you have to get a bladder that is alcohol compatible. I have not looked at the stock fuel system to determine if there is any material at risk, I thought I would ask as many people as I could first to see what shakes out.

No offense meant to anyone, it's just that I am not one to follow someone else's beliefs blindly. I question everything and search for as much information as I can get. Thank you for yours.

-Travis

PS. I am still running E-85 full time.

My next engine oil analysis will tell me how things are going, but in your opinion would AMSoil group 4 synthetic have any issue ?

Let me help. Did you mean to say E85 is not straight ethanol, which is alcohol?

Also, what is a "proper oil designed for alcohol based fuel" ? Please provide a reference.

I think you can but it will be really close to max out or max out at sea level. It is recommended that you run the injectors at about 80% IDC for safety, but you can get away with a higher IDC

What is your altitude?

I think you can do it, you should be around 90% IDC depending on how it is tune.
Talk to your tuner

Didn't you crush your fuel pressure regulator? That will drop IDC's a little.

It's funny because I always forget that I crushed mine and can't figure out why my IDC's are lower than others.

I'm gonna go with bigger injectors are a must. I know a local guy is just about maxing out 1000's on a Dom 2, and I want to say another local is maxing out 750's on a 39, but I could be wrong.
