You guys typically just let your tank drain at home, fill it with e85 and get a AAA tow or something to the tuner? I don't have a laptop or tactrix cable handy for a base tune.

Plan your trip carefully. Try to get to your tuner as close to empty as possible.

Bring a few 5 gallon containers. 1 with 91/93oct in it and 2 with E85. The pump gas is just in case you run out. The E85 is so have no reason to leave the shop once you get there.

Also, your car can run with a little bit of E85 in it, around 20% or more.

But I don't think it'll run well enough on new pump/injectors to make it there on pump gas. It's a 30min drive. Seems like I should just burn a AAA tow on this one.

This is the obvious option, that wont help him though.

just purchase the tactrix cable and a wideband. its the best $350 any subaru owner can ever spend.

People are gonna say....well if i get tuned on the dyno i dont need a wideband....and once the tune is done i wont need the tactrix.....wrong and wrong.

The wideband is a constant leak monitor. And the tactrix can be used to monitor AF learnings, check CEL's, knock learning table, logging.

Good, I just needed somebody to tell me that. Don't know why I'm cutting corners to save a few hundred bucks at this point, haha. Done and done.

u can only get the tactrix from tactrix.com.....and AEM Uego's are $165 on ebay......if you get the digital 30-4100 Uego you can log it with the busted finger motorsports cable.

This looks like a pretty basic but well-functioning kit. Any thoughts?

aem uegos are better. the lc-1's take 10x longer to install and they have lots of problems and a high failure rate. they need constant recalibrations....you have to remove the 02 sensor from the exhaust and ground a wire to make it perform a free air calibration.

the Uegos dont require any calibration, ever.

if you're stuck on innovate, try out this one....its basically innovate's copy of the uego

if you're having trouble logging with the BFM cable its probably a driver issue or something else....its highly unlikey that the BFM cable is bad....its a pretty simple device. pretty much the only things that would cause it to not work are cut wires, loose connections, missing pins on the serial interface, f'd up usb connector...you should be able to verify all those with a visual inspection

are you sure you have the digital uego? if you have the analog one the bfm cable wont work.

the digital one has a blue wire for logging....the analog doesnt have a blue wire....it has a white one in its place

Yeah mine is digital. They replaced my first one. Getting the second one to work is pretty complicated too. I've followed their directions but it wouldn't work for me.

solder uego to serial
serial plugs to serial
usb plugs to laptop
select com port in romraider under secondary devices (make sure you're not selecting the same com port as the tactrix)
select AEM Uego

maybe you're soldering the wrong wires or selecting the wrong com port?
