yeah trouble is i have id1000s. i am considering putting in another walbro and cranking my aeromotive up to 60#s...rons graph shows that should give me around 1200cc's.

probably still not enough, but worth a shot.

juan, you gonna teach me how to tune? these other guys wont share...

Ease of use and tuneability (not for myself) but well known tuners in the area do mainly tuning off the Cobb AP. Extremely easy to switch maps on the car, bought an AP for my old car in 2007 and loved it!

Opensource is easy enough for me, I don't need a little box to do the work for me.

nothing wrong with an accessport in my eyes...i mean the price of the unit is a lil steep but it does have a lot of features and i havent heard of a crappy cobb tuner...

I'd love to hear more about your setup. you can pm me info if you'd like (or are willing) I'd love to do a stock location setup and hit 500whp.

You realize that they tune with the AP too right?

Yes, but why would I spend $600ish more for the same thing?

Different products fit for different people.

Some people are in love with Cobbs map switching without a laptop, LC, FFS, database of maps, customer service, soon to be Speed Density (this is gonna swing a large portion of OS folks back to the AP).

Opensource wins on cost, but pretty much loses on all other fronts.

Not really anything different in the tune itself, but all the "extras" are what people like about the AP.

Yeah, I see where it would be nice.

However, switching maps is so easy with my car laptop. Until accessports get cheaper, I'm sticking with opensource. I really don't need the features it offers.

Lot of good points for one to own an AP. Unless you have an EJ207, then Cobb just leaves you in the cold. Thankfully there is Open Source, otherwise we would all be using expensive Stand Alones or typically worse than anything else; Piggybacks.

What do you think about speed density Ron? on EVOM they really like, they claim really good drivability and more power than MAF

There wont be any more power to be had on SD compared to MAF, its just 2 different ways of calculating injector pulse width, with the same end result as long as AFR stays the same.

As for Cobb SD, I was under the impression that it was a pro tuner only item... ron, do u have a pro tuner license?

its not out yet. john at the shop and a couple others are beta testing. john really wasnt supposed to say anything. letting the cat out of the bag early just results in cobb getting slammed with questions about it.

If i had to guess it will most likely be 6-12 months before anything is released to all protuners.

I've always been interested in Speed density as well as the group N rom. i've always liked the idea of the Cobb unit as well. Mostly for the multiple maps. We'll see where my heart goes in the next 6-7 months.

probably a dumb thought but....

Hemi Coils ?? has anyone messed with them ?

the Dodge/Chrysler hemi's all fire 2 plugs per coil simultaneously and they're cheap as balls... i was wondering if they were rigged up on 1 coil if they'd give a stronger spark or if it would be the same intensity and just have a lower amp draw then before.
