^No, you just need the injectors. I'm thinking about selling mine if you're interested in them.

Correct, however the conversion injectors have machined adapters so they work with the top feed rails

I miss this thread

I bought a coilpack on here and it still hasn't come in the mail. He shipped late and with a slow method (if he shipped at all, I have no tracking number to check).

So now I'm looking for another coilpack...i miss my car!

if you have id2000 top feed injectors for sale, pm me a price as well.

i heard if you arent running AN lines with e85, the fuel corrodes the rubber which in turn gets into stuff you dont want it to. not to mention eventually it will spout a leak.

confirm? deny?

e85 safe fuel line is?

i also heard walbro 255s are not qualified to run e85 and will fail eventually.

rumor or truth?

this is not really true with newer vehicles...vehicles manufactured after ethanol started being put into pump gas had to have ethanol compatible fuel systems

walbro 255's are NOT supposed to be used with e85 if you ask walbro themselves or a walbro dealer, however, most of the ones being used with e85 are running without issue. they do have an ethanol compatible pump, but the aero340 and the dw300 are cheaper, flow more, and E100 compatible. the normal walbro 255's are so cheap and issues are so far and few between that i wouldn't worry about it too much

rumor or truth?

...ethanol isn't really corrosive like methanol is...as long as you keep moisture out of it...

big up amal...

im not gonna run e85 till i get 2000cc's anyway. before i go e85 i will have a fuel system designed for it.

pump power is good enough for me anyway. i like the knock tolerance and extra power of e85 but it does complicate things...less MPG, unreliable blend...testing every fill up, or investing in a subaru based laboratory to make sure its working correctly. its just not as ez as 93...

"this is not really true with newer vehicles...vehicles manufactured after ethanol started being put into pump gas had to have ethanol compatible fuel systems"

thats almost exactly what i said. some pump gas is e20....so OEM vehicles should already be somewhat ethanol compatible.

it may not be 10 year compatible, but its also not gonna eat through your hose in 10 minutes.

Hotrod has been running it in his WRX for many years now with no signs of corroded lines.
Check out the E85 FAQ thread if you're curious.

The Carberry ROM will soon have full flex fuel compatibility if you're worried about the blending issues.

if there is 100% e85 compatible equiptment that is what i will opt to buy.

somebody post up links to the most optimal yet cost effective e85 fuel system.

unless of course everything i hear is not always true...

you CANNOT run the top feed conversion injectors with regular rails on regular tgv housings. The injector is modified to work with the side feed TGV housing.

If you modify the injector, you might be able to.

recap:
The conversion injectors are made ONLY for the conversion rails and side feed TGVs.

In regards to Walbro pumps:
Walbro says " There are parts in the fuel pump that may corrode over time..."

I have dual walbros in my RS running e85 with no issue yet. Many people run them for quite some time before they go out.

I'm curious is switching from 91 to E85 and back to 91 may have hindered my fuel pump. I'm having REALLY bad misfires in 1,2, and 3. So far I've done plugs, fuel filter, cleaned battery terminals, and cleaned cam sensor. Any other ideas? I'm thinking my #4 coilpack is toast.

I can't afford another one right now. Wife's car is totalled, I'm racking up hotel fees, and then getting ripped off...money is tight

Thanks though

move the coilpacks around and see what happens. i find it hard to believe more than 2 coil packs at a time are bad.

what was the last thing you did to the car before the problem?

I was going to move 4 to the other side and see if the problem rotated.

I put gas in it...that's it.

Probably heading to the track on Saturday with this. I haven't been on a drag strip since I ran a 15.8s in my stock Jetta years ago. Any tips/tricks besides the obvious? Tire choices are 255/40/17 Hankooks R-S3s or 225/45/17 Kuhmo V710 slicks (autox). Think it's worth the trouble to bring slicks? I'm not super serious about it, but I'l take anything I can get! Any predictions on ETs or trap speeds?

Tuned well and ended up at 326whp/403ftlb @ 24psi on the Dyno Dynamics at DB Performance. Tuner says stock STIs typically put down around 200whp on his dyno.

I've seen people use auto-x slicks at the drag strip, but you have to try pretty hard to get them sticky. Bring a blow torch
