Another one

id2000s, walbro 400 and 55base pressure. Fuel system is maxed out. Looks like 650whp is the e85 max limit for the walbro 400. You have to consider the shift into 5th is loosing us 3-4mph since it is happening after the 1000ft. So I would say 137-140mph will be the "power" limit on a walbro 400. I have 2 cars running the same mph to back up my claims.

junior, are there plans to hook it up to a boost-a-pump setup or go dual pumps or anything, or is this where this car is going to stop?

boost a pump wont help. We already have it setup to run a constant 13.5-14 volts and sufficient amperage.
Going dual pump is the only solution now, and as quite as these new 400s run it is an awesome setup. Car will be in the 750whp very soon as the non BB 6262 is starting to smoke

i am asking purely because i don't understand and not to argue, why won't a boost-a-pump help? it would raise the constant voltage from 13.5-14v all the way up to 17.5v. if you run the competition one it would bump voltage up to 20v. i just am confused as to why this wouldn't increase pump output?

It undoubtedly will raise pump flow. The down side is that it will also run the pump super hot, and that will decrease pump flow all on its own.

Basically it would be like pushing a td04 to 25psi.. Sure it can get to it, and maybe even work out for a few passes down the strip. It wont be consistent and it will definitely be on borrowed time.

Junior: what's your opinion on e85's increased cyl pressure versus a non-sleeved block? This would be at roughly ~30psi with a pte 6266 on a built hybrid 2.5 with lots of headwork. I'd really like to have around 600whp on e with a safe tune. (track duty not drag)

Please don't talk to me like I'm a noob. I've had 1/2 a dozen cars over 500whp. I just don't know where the limit of the unsleeved EJ257 block is on whiskey.

i was just laughing out loud because there aren't to many reliable 600whp subarus running around for over 5000 miles these days. someone tell me im wrong.

okay, name 3...600whp over 15,000 miles.

most of the guys that can build a 600whp subaru can afford to rebuild it over and over or simply sell it off and get out. but not 600whp daily driven. your thinkin like 15,000 miles a year?

im not trying to condescend to you. i'm no better than you or anyone brother. you never know who is on the other side of the internet.

i just dont think the subaru is the best choice for over 500whp...even on sleeves. i'm def not saying i'm glad its that way, but there are better big power platforms for cheaper.

foreign and domestic.

anyway...e85 is cool.

both P&L's 8 second cars are non-sleeved PS3 shorblocks, both on e85.

while its no 600whp, my 460+ whp/tq motor is on stock sleeves. when i pulled my last motor 460whp, at just over 17,000 miles, everything looked great in the cylinders, and i was running fairly aggressive timing (not track aggressive though) and about 27psi of boost. it would have been in the car for much longer if the headgasket wouldn't have started seeping...stupid ARP 70ftlb torque specs and AWDTuning ...the new motor is at 490whp/470wtq currently (fuel pump limited...hopefully not much longer) and is running stock sleeves, 28-30psi, and pretty much the same type of aggressiveness on the timing as the last motor was. it has just over 5000miles on it currently. i did the AWDTuning delete (i.e.-they didn't touch this one) and torqued the head bolts to 95ftlbs this time. we'll see how it does...hopefully good...

I am going to buy the new ARP 625+ custom age, I don't want to deal with pushing coolant anymore .

yeah, rather than just following the ARP specs this time around, i actually talked to quite a few shops around the country, and most of them seem to be having success with 95ftlbs as the final number...like i said, we'll see...i know this time around i will be pulling the motor as soon as i notice it starting to happen to hopefully avoid the grooved block and head ordeal i went through last year

My rule of thumb is our H11 studs and make sure you keep a damn coolant expansion tank!!!!

Built quite a few motors in my day and everyone is still running till this day.
