Is this the same setup that did a 119 trap speed?

With SD, why is it shooting flames on the dyno?

Looking at the logs from my 119 pass - I was running a bit under 24 psi. On this dyno pull I was hitting 25 psi and was seeing cooler ambient temps.

119 at my weight suggests 480 whp which is about where I figured it would dyno. 1 psi might be good for 15 - 20 whp I suppose or perhaps this dyno reads high.

I still need to locate and adjust the injector overrun tables. Stock values are a bit much for 1400s

The trap still seems low with that ET.

I bet some more time spent in those VE areas will take care of the flames, without adjusting any overrun values.

My trap speed was consistent over the four passes I made. My ET ranged from 11.5 - 12.1 depending on if I had to deal with the clutch not grabbing or missing a gear. 11.5 was my pass where I hit all my shifts about as well as I could.

I felt like I might have been able to get a higher trap speed by shifting sooner into 4th and 5th so I could carry 5th longer but I thought that might reduce my ET. I'm not experienced with drag racing, this was my first time. I still have a lot to learn.

What VE areas are you talking about? The areas it moves into when I lift? I was pretty certain its overrun fueling. I can see the injectors staying on well after I lift and the throttle is closed. I've adjusted this on other cars and this condition goes away. I just haven't taken the time to dig out the tables in my own rom and adjust it.

With a power band like that, bang them out at redline... or higher.

As far as the DFCO when you lift... Somewhere in the VE table where you're crossing when you lift is giving you a good bit more fuel than you need, so you're going to see them stay open longer, despite the size injector you have in. Find that, adjust it, and you shouldn't have to touch any overrun properties.

Anyone running ProEFI with the flex-fuel setup? I'm currently running a series 1 AEM EMS and I'm pretty sure it can't support flex fuel.

The aem series 2 was supposed to have capability for flex fuel now. Not sure if they got it or not. I have a vipec v88 with a continental ethanol sensor. Works great.

I know, no info on the proefi unit. Just thought I'd share how I did it.

Anyone running 10:1 pistons? My current engine is 9:1 and I love it. I just bought a closed deck short block with cup 10:1 pistons and now I'm getting cold feet. E85 (79-82%) will be run 99% of the time, but I want to be able to run 93 occasionally when I take 1-3 day trips to the tail of the dragon. I don't want to haul 20-30 gallons of ethanol up there. I would be fine running 15-19 psi on pump gas if that's what it took to run 10:1 pistons.

Thoughts?

Junior tuned Paul Szuba's 10:1 CR motor with a 6266 and a built auto in his Forester. Jrtuned it a few days after my last tune in July. It made 610whp if I remember correctly. I'd ask junior how much boost he used but I'd bet it's not much more than 30-32psi.

Dom told me to target 19-21psi on 93 with my 9.6:1 motor with his short block and my D25 PnPd +1mm valve heads. Junior ended up targeting 22psi on 93 and 29ish on e85 after I installed the id1300's.

I'd be ok if 35 psi got me 750 ish. I'm pretty sure it would be just fine with e85. It seems that it will be fine on pump gas as well at lower boost. I am fine with low boost since I won't be able to put that much power to the ground in the twisties anyways. Probably be more fun wuth just the right amount of power versus way too much in the mountains. It's just not something easily changed and this is a big chunk of money. haha.

About to be running 10:1 in my new motor using ethanol majority of the time and run gate pressure(20 psi) when I want to run 93 octane

I wouldn't worry about running a higher cr than people normally do, just be smart about it

The power looks good, but where it starts to spool and make power doesn't look like it'd be great to drive even semi daily on the street. That's the reason why I don't want to go bigger than my 16G-XT on 2 liters.

Full boost at 3800 3900 isn't too bad. Thats why I wanna know if he's rocking a Top or Front mount. Very similar to my setup. Wasn't great to DD but is Fun on the Track and RallyX events!

Only difference is I have 155K on my SB!!! LOL

I'm sorry and don't mean to be a bummer, I know this is a 2L but this build is pretty darn laggy! My spool and boost happens 1000-1100 rpm's sooner with a similar sized Blouch turbo!

Peak power seems consistent with the lower boost he's running.

I'd guess that the slow spool might be that his cam timing wasn't working or that he's at a high altitude but in general, the 207 isn't particularly quick to spool anything but it sure is amazing from about 5k to 8k. I have no idea why his log stopped at 7k.

why to bother putting a 207 in place of a 257?? someone i know has a 207 high compression fully built bottom end with built 205 heads, he's running a 35r .63 spooling like my old 30r .82 on a 257, now that's a bad ass 2L build.
