Hey. Anybody got the guts to go 1,000 miles in the desert on E85 in a Subaru? They have a special, wide open biofuels class split into "Manufacturers" and "Open".

I made the switch to E85 this spring on my autoX car. '02 wrx engine, TD04, 665cc injectors, a bunch of other bolt on mods. It made 230 whp and 272 ft-lbs of torque. E85 is essentially cheap race gas.

conservative tune
BPM UP/DP and TBE
6.5k elevation
245whp on same setup w/91oct.

<<<10 months into the new setup. Much different....

I'd be more interested in driving a vehicle powered by "angry squirrels on steroids" as they mention in the alternative fuels class.

This isn't exactly E85 Army... I didn't want to step on any toes and start trying to create a shirt for that... but this is E85 related.. a little something I slapped together tonight if anyone is interested. (Look at the back of the shirt!!)

Would I be wasting my time running e85 on my 3582R with PE850s, always wanted to get tuned on it but I highly doubt I will if I need to buy bigger injectors, after reading this far into the thread its looks like the odds are against me.

Any cons on running E85? I have like 1 station near me and Im thinking of running on my next setup, but Im not sure if its going to be as reliable as pump gas being there year round. any thoughts?
