Default New Set up on Dyno Flash STI - initial dyno testing

Here is my old UR single sroll with .82 HTA86 turbo and 30 psi with pump gas. UR fmic

vs.

APS twin scroll, Same turbo 1.06 back housing, 30 psi and pump gas, APS fmic.

Bost runs are with hydra ecu and Aquamist hfs 5 100% meth with pump gas.

You can see that the TQ peak rpm is shifted to the right of the power band

This is intial testing - more to come over the next few weeks

I aborted the red / APS run early as it seems I am out of injector and will now need 1200 cc injectors at least.

I am super excited to be back in action with my STI - I missed it. It is truely the ultimate street machine.

Al, Why not ditch your efforts with Meth (I know you love it) and go for E85 instead??

it looks good Al congrats, any videos of the beast ?
So you are running cosworth internals and which sleeves? You should try the cosworth intake manifold and run a test for us! Stock intake manifold VS cosworth

wow 603awhp and it looks to still be climbing! Can't wait for you to slap some larger injectors on the thing and rev it all the way out

Nice setup al. Its nice to see someone using aebs sleeves on the ej257 rather than the more common dartons. Im a big fan of aebs and golden eagles. In your opinion tho which is a better turbo. The hta86 or the pt 62/62. Im planning on upgrading to the hta86.

why 100% meth, isnt an 75% meth 25% water a more effective mixture because the water supplies additional cooling of cylinder chambers?

We are also looking for maximum octane

In my studies, 100% meth has afforded me the closest to a race gas like power level on pump

When combining water I can not run the tune as agressive

Finally - as we all know water does not burn

I am done with Darton - its a joke compared to AEBS

The more fair comparision is between the HTA86 and the PT 62/82 - both use the Gt35 center CHRA

The PT unit spools harder and the FP unit has more top end - up to user preference

I have the same feeling

Its really annoying when you hit a road block and have to wait for more parts

I have a lot of time into this to get it right seeing the IDC go to 100% was enough to convince me it was time to speak with Paul and get a set of those super nice P & L 1200 cc injector sets.

I am not satisfied with 600 whp. I need more fuel to make more.

We have the Bad Bish ready for action - as well as my 820 whp Evo as well so if you have any fast cars feel free to stop by anytime.

My STI will have to wait till next week. This is a labor of love and a project which brings me pleasure so I am not in a hurry to get out and start racing.

Nice power for sure, but I thought the APS twinscroll should spool faster than the gt35r. My buddies wagon reaches full boost by 3800 with that turbo kit. He is running stock cams though....maybe thats why, I dont know.

vid of his car at the strip same set up as you but without cams and no sleeves.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSwO1VZi1nI

hes running the 1.06 hotside and has run a best of 10.80 @ 129 with it.

Very good setup with lots more potential for sure

I agree with your observations and I will be spending some time to work on the details and maximize spool up

I have a video I am going to up load shortly of the car on the road when I first put it together making boost very quickly in 3rd and 4th gear from a roll at 3,000 rpms. For unkown reasons, when it came to the dyno it seemed that the car became much laggier. One thing for sure that toy BOV I have in the pics above was not working well as when we pinched off the hose going to the bov it spooled up faster. Also, I was unable to boost leak test it as I could not find a clamp large enough to go around the turbo inlet late at night.

The art of good tuning is in the refinement and the small details which add up to a great result.

I have more work ahead of me.

Where did you get the 1,06 hotside? Also what up with you coming to St.Louis to tune my same setup. I guess I'm going to have to get some bigger injectors too.
