Default iPhone! Who's getting it?

I'm not, been there done that, total fad. But let's see who the fanboys are who will be picking one up today

On a side note, I just got the 6GB for $30 plan, up from $30 for 300MB on my BB.

I can't stand touch-screen phones (iPhone, HTC Touch) because text-messaging or e-mailing totally sucks. Full QWERTY keyboard FTW.

iPhone is so overraded...

The thing that pisses me off is that people (General Public) on BIS can get 6 gigs for $30.

The rest of us in the business world (BES) have to pay $60 for 25MB....

Such a RIP OFF it isn't even funny...

People were soooo upset about the price and data plan on the iPhone but it's a million times better than any Business Blackberry plan....

GOD DAMIT!

I love touch screens I have one of the very first (and the few) Pocket PC that has full VGA resolution (640x480) - Toshiba E800. Great PPC for its time. And now I have a full 12" convertable tablet PC Personally I like having the hand writing recognition, and the ability to doodle.

But I will not be getting a iPhone. I have been iXXX free so far, and have no intention of owning one. Besides I don't really listen to music anyway.

just got back from being in line for an hour. The Rogers system crashed and they can't sign anybody up right now. My friend was 4th in line and he's still there.

Stooopid rogers!!!

Also, there's a limited supply of 16 gig phones so if you want one, wait a week or so the real fanatics are the ones that want those extra 8 gigs anyways.

it's actually a pretty good phone, it's easy to navigate, and has a huge screen, about the touch screen part, it's very easy to use, typing txt mesg takes some getting used to, but once u get the hang of it, it's very easy and fast too... i bought the 1st gen after a year ago and used it for like half a year... liked it very much... but i dented the **** out of it so i sold it... if it wasnt dented i would've kept it... oh also, if ur into iphones, dont buy it here because of the stupid contract... buy it either in the states or in those honger phone shops that buys them from the states...

It's a POS phone. Basically it's another accessory for those yuppies at coffee shops to show off their silly toys

Yeah definitely, the feature set the iphone has is very limited. Yeah I admit the music player is nice but besides that it's rubbish.

My brother in law has had the iphone on Rogers since shortly after it came out in the States. He likes it, but it's not the be-all end-all he says.

i would like to have one, being a mac fanboy, haha

but meh.. not entirely feeling the touch screen and high cost of the plan. I would be willing to pay for the phone, but the plans, not so much. I'll stick with my current for a bit longer to see how it plays out with the plan pricing and the possible new providers

Does anybody know clearly how the purchase would work? I've heard that you would have to pay $50 extra if you current plan is under $30 and you aren't signing up any data plan along with the phone.

iPhone is still such a rip off with Roger's plan. No option but to sign a 3 year contract. Ya right. Plus if you break or lose your phone you have to either buy it at full price again or sign another 2 year contract on top of your current one. The new wireless spectrum auction just ended so in another year or so there should be competition (telus perhaps).

Another communication company has plans to invest on Canadian wireless market. So Teddy won't be the only GSM provider in Canada very soon.

Telus has been talking about GSM recently but that has nothign to do with the new wireless spectrum auction. Telus wants a piece of the roaming market but with the market conditions they are in Canada I don't see that as adding "more competition"

It looks like Shaw may take a big piece of the pie but it's a multi-billion dollar investment plan which means that we won't be seeing anything in the short run.

Rumor is that Rogers is forcing the 3 year plan because a competitor will have the iphone within that time. So hopefully that's true
