Vehicle:ZOMG my car is actually working!!! |
I followed the instructions in the Hydra manual (pages 43-47) to the letter and I just want to make sure that my results were normal. Here's what I did click for click without a single detail missing:
1. Started off with the WB unplugged and then turned on the power but did not start the car. 2. Opened the hydra software on my laptop and selected open from ecu to grab a current copy of my map. 3. Went to "map group" > "settings 1" > "sensor type and calibration" 4. Modified the "UEGO zero calibration" setting until the AFR value at the bottom of the window stayed close to 14.7 (it was jumping around by +/1 0.05 AFR) 5. Since the car was already up in the air, I plugged the WB in (never shut the power off and left that window opened on the laptop) and let it dangle from the harness in the open air. It almost instantly became hot to the touch and I could see the red glowing element inside. 6. I waited about three minutes for the WB to come up to temp and then went back to my laptop. 7. I modified the "UEGO gradient calibration" value until the AFR value at the bottom of the window stayed close to 21.5 but it continued to roll through values between 21.42 and 21.53. Since the AFR mostly rested on 21.5 and occasionally held for a few seconds I figured that it was as close as I could get it. 8. I closed the window and saved the map to a file on my desktop. Is this normal? Did I do it correctly? Here are a few screen shots. This is where I ended up: ![]() On the main screen the AFR reading with the WB in opend air almost always shows 21.5 and almost never moves. When it does change it only moves to 21.4 and then back to 21.5. ![]() At this point, the car starts and runs but the AFRs 15 seconds after startup (car has not run in over 72 hours) were around 10.5 but they rolled up and down a bit. I only gave it about 30 seconds to run before I shut it down and called it quits for the night (long day). I do know that the map that I am running is very close to my setup but the car is mapped for Perrin modified stock injectors and I am running deatschwerks modified stock injectors.
