Default Looking into Forged Internals, need input/ advice.

I have an 04 STi. I am looking into building the motor before I do a Blouch Dom 3. I want to do internals first because I dont want the engine to pop on me, and because I have seen enough issues on the 2.5 motor due to the stock pistons that I think itd be a good investment. Now having said this, I am just beginning to learn about Internals on these cars, so i dont know much yet.

To start with, what exactly do u all think is best to do? I was thinking Id do pistons, rods, and bearings. But is there anything else that is really good to do? I want to keep the stock block, cuz my power goals arent astronomical.

Second off, what companies are good for these? Ive been liking the Cosworth parts, but thats cuz I know their reputation. What others are there that are good?

third, what options do I have for pistons and stuff? as far as adding some power or something. I saw that there are different dimension pistons that are available. Is this for different compression ratios or something? Because I may be interested in putting in slightly higher compression pistons to make more power with less boost. But I really need some explaination about this part.

Also, idk anything about the camshafts available. What are the pros and cons of getting cams?

thanks for any input.

I'd take a look in the Built Motor Discussion section... They have a lot of FAQ threads (check stickys) that could help you out!
