Default windsheild repair

hey, so i was driving on richmond freeway to drop my gf at home when i was about to pass a truck, then i heard a couple clicks on my windshield. when i got home i noticed it was 3 small chips, and some tampered glass in that little dip @ the base of the wipers. so apparently that's what hit my glass.

it's no biggie though, it's not a big enough crack at the moment to be filled, but for future reference, if i were to replace my windsheild, would the comprehensive give me the same type of windsheild again? cause i really like the hated coils for my blades, and would definately want those again lol.

i'm just wondering what would i need to do, if when i replace my windsheild to get the same oem spec ones for the 2008's.

thanks for the help

teh comprehensive will definitely cover teh replacement cost of ur windsheild for sure. ICBC will get u teh exact windsheild u have right now. If u do need to replace teh windsheild u should go to dealership to do it with everything OEM, cause u pay for teh fixed decuctable only no matter how big is teh bill!!

so when you do make claim from ICBC, you better see good quality work with BIG bill! That s what insurance is used for

No, this is NOT always the case.

I had a crack in my windshield and took it to one of the Subaru dealerships in Vancouver.

What did they do? They sent my car down the block-and-a-half to Speedy glass and got them to replace the windshield. They did NOT use OEM glass.

If I had known they were going to do that, I would have saved myself the hassle of crossing the bridge to go to the dealership where I bought my car from, and headed to a much more convenient and local glass place in Burnaby.

LaterZ!

most dealerships wont be the ones to replace the glass, unless they have a body shop on site.

99% of the time it gets subletted to the closest glass shop.

you know most oem glass is made by the same companies that produce aftermarket glass?
knowing is 1/2 the battle.

just my .04 cents

iirc ppg and pilkington make most auto glass
