John,

Do you mind adding the event to the "Events" sticky as well. We will be there for sure and are hoping to debut our race team and drag program. More to come on that later....but for now, lets pump this event up.

If there are enough drag events to have their own thread feel free to put it together and I'll add it there too.

Below are the outlined classes for the event.

Top Turbo:

8 low ET qualifiers (4 EVO vs. 4 STi)
Heads up, first to the finish. Cash awards.
This eliminator is restricted to EVO's and STi's only.
Reason: It's the sponsors area of interest. Plus it's the biggest rivals.

Wildcard 8: 8 cars closest in ET. Heads up, first to the finish. Cash awards

Hot Street: Top half of the field, handicap, auto dial in. With Performance Run Under in effect. Trophies

Jr. Street: Lower half of the field, handicap, auto dial in. With Performance Run Under in effect. Trophies

Fast FWD: All front wheel drive cars, handicap, auto dial in. With Performance Run Under in effect. Trophies

Exhibition: Real race cars, or any car that is not street legal, heads up first to the finish. Cash awards

All competitors must be street legal. Licensed, inspected and mufflers. Any tire is permitted. Any car not meeting these rules will run in exhibition.

We're keeping it all pretty simple. Sort of like a big Friday Night/Stop Light Drags event, but just for Turbocharged Sport Compact entries.

FYI: These eliminators are not cast in cement and can be modified after reviewing input from competitors. But as it stands, we're getting a lot of positive feedback.

still doesn't mean people can't go out and support and event and have a good time at the track. I by no means am a drag racer. In fact I've only run at the strip on two occassions (the second only because the first was a rain-out) and that was 3 years ago.

We are mainly looking to have a fun day at the track and we really hope to get a large number of subys at the event. CBRD Speedfactory is co-sponsoring the event and they have tons of fast evo's lined up, so we are hoping to give them some competition....
Also there will be free parts giveaways, and hopefully some media coverage i.e. magazines etc...

Hope to see some of you guys there.

How about a stock location turbo heads up class for evo vs wrx? Englishtown runs that during their wrx vs evo shootout.

I will be there with my 09 White Premi Hatch.

My buddy with his 04 WRX Stage 1 will be there as well. I think our friend with an 06 EVO is planning on coming.

Very excited for this. Haven't drag raced since I had my Saturn ::giggles::

That's fine with us, the more people we get the more fun we should have. We don't discriminate...

Will you please clarify the term "sport compact vehicles"? Is this the DOT definition of 'compact vehicle' or some other definition?

Probably would be helpful to just say what type of car you wanted to enter.
