Yeah... DD is great my clutch was going at 20,000K and they totally told me I needed to replace it! What awesome service! Apparently a clutch with 10% left will go strong for another 40,000K and probably longer.

well starting from myself....

I went to Richmond Suabru early early March. I walked in the show room. I was browsing around the impreza in and out. After almost 5 to 8 mins, I had no sales person come to me offer for help untill I ask for help. I saw 2 sales person that were chatting and standing within 20 feet away from me(your know Richmond Subaru show room is very small. It was on sunny a Saturday morning. They seems enjoying the Sunny day and chating rather than have a business.

Next day, I went to Don Docksteader Subaru Sunday afternoon. I parked the car on road side and walked toward the entrance of the show room. Guess what? The sales person come out from the show room to welcome us. That s different ah!!

I guess the sarcasm didn't really come through properly.

My car was in the shop at 20,000KM and they told me I needed a new clutch. I said screw that we'll see about that, drove the car for another 40,000KMs without any problems and sold the car with 60K on there the clutch still strong.

Moral of the story, they're all out to scam you.

Oh they were also the guys who recommended THE WORST body shop out there... Craftsman Collision across the street from them claiming that these guys do GREAT work. That was wrong... it was all one big and terrible FAIL.

I just love the "stealership" threads.

I'm so thrilled to be stereotyped.

I just can't get enough of this crap.

Ya, if 95% are happy then I think that's ok.

Obviously, I'd rather have 100% of my customers happy but unfortunately, I'm not sure that's possible.

I have had great experiences at Specialty Subaru. Geremy sold me my car and I also bought a previous Subaru there. Both were the easiest, smoothest, least stressful purchases I have ever made of an autoMOBILE. Service work has also been great.

from my experience with subaru dealerships, i met geremy at the vic bbq last year, and if i were in the market to buy new, i would go see him.

my roomate had lots of work done on his 98 gc at specialty in north van, with the exception of them not wanting to roadtest to 90-100 km/h for a vibration (which they did end up fixing) it went smoothly.
dealing with their parts department has been hit or miss at best.

oh and specialty did sponser the bbq last year, so that has to be a +1 for that reason

btw, stay the hell away from Subaru North in Grande Prairie. This is just in case you find yourself up there.

5th & Carney Subaru in Prince George seems to be pretty good though.

well when i was shopping for my car, I went to both Richmond Subaru and Don Docksteader.

At Richmond Subaru we went in, sat in a few different car models, which was on display. No one even came close to us, then we left. This happened to us at pretty much ever richmond dealership we went to. Minus the lexus dealer, where this old guy comes up to us and started to talk to us about the lx470 we were looking at.

He told us, "Most of these sales people, only look at the shirt you wear and think that you don't have the money to buy a car. But, it's the young people, who are often the buying force behind new cars."

When we went to Don Docksteader, we showed up in this old ass Volvo 240 and met a sale's person even before getting into the door (The guy was on a smoke break. LOL)

My car, which I bought from a lady in Nanaimo, was originally from Specialty. She bought both her cars from Specialty.

They still have my service records, that I need to get sometime. But they won't give it to me unless the owner (insurance) comes to them to get it. -_- Really don't have the time for that. *sigh*
