Default Need to pass smog: What OEM Intake will fit an EJ20G

I have to smog so I can transfer the title and get my tags current. I know I can get it to pass a sniffer and I am pre 1996 so I am exempt from OBDII requirements.

The one problem I am facing is that I have a JDM Apexi Intake that will most likely fail a visual.

What can I get that is Carb legal (doubt that exists) or OEM? 199X Legacy intake?

Thanks guys.

BTW here is the finished engine.

If you have a 90 degree inlet turbo, a '91-94 Legacy Sport Sedan or Legacy Touring Wagon (turbo models) will have the intake tract you need.

I see your in Irvine. I have plenty of stuff (both Legacy and stock EJ20G) you can borrow. PM me if interested.

Jeff,
That engine looks so much better than it did before!

A stock airbox and inlet will work for you. If Rallycolt is missing any bits and pieces that you need, drop me a line. I can help as well.

Do a search for JefffWRX's other posts. There's a whole thread of pictures from when he first bought it.

My friends dad is a 40+ year master mechanic. He rebuilt it in his garage and did some work out of his shop.

ha ha, gotcha, I never thought there would be too big a problem with CA idle emissions test, since we don't have to worry about NOx. I was just concerned with visual. I do know of several cases when techs have put priority on functional tests over visual in the case of swaps.

There are techs that dont care too much about the visual if it passes the sniffer

Plus, the engine looks and runs brand new so they wont be to concerned.

Engine porn-

Let me know if you need a stock air box for the EJ20G, I have one that will probably go up for sale this weekend to help clean out my garage.
