Default ARS-turbo-rebuild ?'s

Keep in mind that the search is down right now.

All right, I just bought a used turbo kit with a dead turbo (yes I knew it was dead before I bought it) The kit is a stage II from ASR with a Turbonetics T3-T4 I think, as I can't find any info on them anymore. I took a good look at the turbo to day and found a nut in the exhaust housing, got it out but there some damage to the impeller.

I have a few ?'s. First can the turbo be rebuilt, and what all do I need to fix it? Will a new cartridge do the job, also where is the best place to get it? If I need to replace this unit do I have to get the same unit as what was in it, or can I replace it with something else? Can I up rate it to a ball baring unit?

Can anyone tell me where to find info on this kit, mainly what turbo it is and the specs on it (the only #'s I see on it is as follows on the exh. 20359- int. H0200)?

Also where can i get deltagate wastgate spring from?
Thanks

HKS gave me a good source to rebuild turbos but I can't remember it right now.

try calling turbonetics though. I know they sell rebuilds maybe they can do it or referr you to someone who will.

it's my understanding that 90% of all turbo's sold are "rebuilds". They may have a totally new cartridge, but usually the housings aren't new. Call turbonetics, they should be able to fix it for you.

I've been searching now and found a place to get W/G springs, but haven't found any specs on the turbo in ASR kit.
Thanks for pointing out that the search is up I've been waiting for it or more correctly waiting for my computer.

Default Turbo City to the rescue

Well, I called Turbo City and I'm shipping it to them to have it look at they gave me a ball park price of $150. Does anyone have any suggestion of anything more I should have them do?

I believe the ASR turbos were sourced from Innovative Turbo, not Turbonetics, although obviously any turbo shop should be able to do a rebuild.

The wastegate spring can be ordered directly from Turbonetics (for the Deltagate; for the Tial, I don't know offhand -- I know RoadRaceEngineering carries Tial stuff, but there may be better sources).

If your T3/T4 was the same as the other ASR turbos, it has a 40-trim compressor wheel with a .42A/R turbine.

Anyone know if a Turbonetics spring will some how fit on an internal wastegate for an IHI RHB5 Legacy turbo?

I need to find one, and am having some bad luck, so if anyone knows I would appreciate it greatly.

Yah I don't think that the EBC is the best option, as some guys on here (Jewbaru in particular) had some stipulations with them that caused their cars to boost spike and have wastegate problems.

After installing the ITC, I don't think that 2 more lbs. of boost would hurt, just have to find the spring.
