Default Building EJ257 debating running AVCS

I am in the process of building an ej257 with ej255 heads for DD duties. I am debating on running AVCS or non-AVCS. I am looking at different cams to use. I am looking at Cosworth, JUN, Crower and BC. Would the JUN cams work in the ej255 in a non functional AVCS enviroment? What cam profiles would you run on a setup like this? I am looking at running either the FP Red or the ATP GT3076R both setup for EWG.

To get the ej257 and ej255 heads to work properly mechanically what is going do I need to do? This build is going into a 03 WRX but I am going to be running Hydra.

What cam buckets should I go with or how do I know which ones to go with? Would EJ20 aftermarket valve springs like JUN work on the ej255 heads?

The pick-ups on the ej255/257 cams are different than ej205/207.

Pickups are for? AVCS? I am not sure what you are talking about.

however, you can get a normal cam sensor location on the 257 heads...so a relatively minor deal.

all the valvetrain components are interchangable...however I will say to stick with a cam that was designed for the EJ25 and not the EJ20 for that bottom end.
