I currently have a 2005 2.5RS and i am looking to swap a 06-07 2.5 WRX motor into it. How difficult of a job would this be? will everything bolt up correctly? My biggest question is will i need to replace anything else like the the wiring harness, trany, drivetrain, and fuel stuff or does the 05 rs have all the same parts as the wrx besides the motor?

that would make since but my car has a salvaged title because of where I bought it and it is worth a lot less then a used 05 wrx. so it would be a lot cheaper if i bought a 06 wrx motor for $2,500 and swap it myself. then sell my engine for at least $1,500, it only has 32,000 miles. now its worth it if the extra stuff dosent cost to much

The reality of it is that regardless of the title you are still better off selling it and geting a WRX. |

I got $800 for my WRX long block with 80K miles. Ideally picking up a wrecked WRX would be the way to go. You can find wreck WRX's or less than the parts themselves cost and you'll have everything for the swap.
